“Stress Relief”

We spent half term there last week from 22nd October. Weather was cooler than had been expected. Massive one bedroom apartment with garden views. An excellent week's peace and quiet with only a few guests. Fairly obvious last week was the end of season as the bar and restaurant were not open all the time but I guess that's to be expected with a handful of guests.Cleaners in every day and fresh towels each time. Superb helpful bloke on reception when we arrived (Bernard I think from other reviews). Hired a car from Faro airport. Not essential but well worth the money not just for the shopping. Excellent locals in the shops all keen to help especially if you try your hand at Portugese. Neither indoor or outdoor pools heated and were "cool". Atlantic Ocean felt warmer! As with other posts, there is only plug socket in the kitchen which was annoying particularly as there is no shortage elsewhere in the apartment. Would certainly stay here again.

“Refreshing week”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2011

Stayed for a week in late October. Ideal for a quiet break at this time of year. Weather very good but sea and pool both very cold!! Might be our age! Apartment large and very clean with all necessary facilities. One or two minor problems dealt with most promptly by the gentlemen on reception.
We had a hire car and would suggest that a car is very necessary as apartments are rather too far from beach and supermarket to walk, especially with bags of shopping and water, a necessary purchase. There is a free bus service to the beach but we did not use it and therefore cannot comment on it.
A lovely quiet place to stay especially in October and we would thoroughally recommend it.

“Great Holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

Lovely holiday here. Pool area is great. Apartments are huge. We had a 2 bedroom one, there were four of us (2 adults, a toddler and a teenager). Our apartment was upstairs and there was a stairgate available at the top. I'm not sure if this was noisy for the people below as it was metal against tile floor. Supermarket 10 minwalk and shuttle bus takes you to town, This can get busy but I noticed the driver will come back for you if there wasn't room.
Carveirio isn't the cheapest for food - we went on hol to Armacao du Pera in June which seemed a bit cheaper. It's not cheap but not extortionate either. Def recommend a place called Happy's - the owner is fabulous and nothing is too much trouble. He got our daughter second helpings when she had eaten most of her food. We ate there twice in our week's stay.
The beach is lovely and if you climb up the hill path up the steps at the side there is a nice playground area for little ones at the top.
We would def go back

“Lovely holiday!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

The appartment was very spacious, nice and very clean! What we have to say, the receptionist (lovely gay from Belgium) very nice gentleman, the best one of them! The area was absolutely great, night time very quiet, ideal for couples or families as well. Shuttle bus runs three times a day, just time wasn't very suitable for us. We rented for all our staying a scooter for 123 euro, which was pretty good value. Supermarket is 10 min. far from collina with transport but very expensive. We found cheaper one in Lagoa, which is quiet close little town. The beaches were exclusive, especially Benagil or in Lagos. Just diving with Padi at Tivoli hotel wasn't nice. Propably caused big windy for 2 days. Rest of days was very hot and lovely! Carvoeiro is definitely best place where to go if you expect nice, charm, wonderful holiday time:-)
The swimming pool not very big how looks like on the photos, but good sized for swimming. We would definitely recommend to everybody who likes great holiday in paradise!

“what a great holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 October 2011

just come back from Colina Village - had a great stay and would def go back. The apartment was massive only 2 of us and we had a 3 bedroomed mansion never been in a place so big, 2 bathrooms. Well equipped with everything you need. Only missing was an iron but then I didnt need one, just a point if anyone does.

It was airconditioned, quiet except for the dogs guarding the farm across the way but we got used to it.

the complex is not too big, the pool was great and had an inside one also, bar was resonable and good.

Resturant was very good and tasty just a bit too slow over an hour wait but why rush were on holiday and it was very busy

the restarant down the hill POCO PARTIDO was very good dinning outside in the great weather. Desserts not too exciting mainly ice cream frozen ones but only had 1 as too full
They are very helpful and pleasent and quick. Prcies about the same everywhere we went, about the same as the Uk. Wine we had cost £12 in restaurants we bought the same in the supermarket 2 euros 59 ??

We also hired a car from the Argus car hire and that was via the Trawler group in Caveiro, we booked it in the UK and was cheaper, the lady there was great she delivered the car at Colina for us and ,brought us back to Colina when we had handed the car back and done some shopping on the last day. It is also the car hire recommended at Colina.

We spoke to some of the Duty Managers and one wasnt too friendly but a night Manager we kept on seeing was extremely helpful and friendly and gave us idreas where to go and visit NICE MAN

The chambermaids were abit hit and miss but didnt make it any problem for us.

Supermarket about 15-20 mins away and very good.

People on the whole were great and so so friendly. Would recommend to anyone

Room Tip: room 49 massive
