“Do not stay here if you have any sort of dietary requirements or want staff that are able to communicate with you!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

We had to stay at this hotel when Virgin delayed our flights for 3 days (Yes that's right, three days!) and we couldn't have had a worse experience! I will admit that Virgin was also to blame for our sorrows but this hotel did absolutely nothing to brighten our moods!
The toilet in our room didn't flush, which was also apparent when one of the maids decided to use it whilst cleaning our room and left a lovely surprise in there for us when we got back!
The staff did not understand English, and whenever we tried to ask them questions about our flight or avenues by which we might be able to make contact with our families/flight companies/travel insurance they had no idea what we were saying and kept just nodding and saying 'yes' to everything we asked.
I am a vegetarian, but the hotel did nothing to cater for my needs. The buffet on the top floor pointed me to the salad and plain rice when I asked for vegetarian food. After this we decided to eat in the restaurant downstairs in search of some proper food, but the 'vegetarian' menu contained dishes such as 'Fried mutton' or 'Steamed pork with vegetables'. I lived off fruit and french fries during our three days.
My friend and I got food poisoning after dining at this hotel, even though we had not had food poisoning on any other occasion during our trip (and we ate from street vendours and local eateries!) The fact that our toilet didn't flush also enhanced the unpleasantness of being ill!
There were no DVD players in the rooms, which would have been nice considering we had three whole days to kill!
The room quality at this place was otherwise satisfactory, and the beds were very comfortable. The location is terrible though: there is absolutely nothing worthwhile to see or do in Phuket town, do not go there! It is also very dirty and smells, and noone speaks English!

“Very relaxing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

Two of us stayed here for 5 days as part of a trip in different locations across Phuket, and it was our most enjoyable and relaxing hotel and location. While the hotel is showing a little age (especially with all the wood appointments in the room), our room was very clean, in good condition and always well serviced. The bed was comfortable. One of the best attractions was the room's balcony and view of Nai Harn and the cove and highly recommended. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. We had a late flight and the hotel happily provided another room for us to store luggage and shower in before a very late departure. This room was on the hill side and was musty and needed refurbishing - no where near as nice as the ocean view room. Breakfast was very good, always fresh and diverse. The breakfast restaurant is an open Thai style room with views down across the cove - the perfect place to start the day. Nai Harn beach is one of the more secluded beaches on Phuket with not many of the high adrenaline activities. If you are after this, stay somewhere else. If you are seeking a pretty and relaxing location to unwind and recharge, I strongly recommend the Royal Phuket Yacht Club.

Room Tip: A room with balcony and ocean view is essential

“Meh”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

When we booked this hotel we didn't realize that we booked in a place where there is not a lot to do. The staff here are nice and the rooms are clean but very average. The bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. We stayed in a room with nice big windows on a corner so we had a nice view. We could hear everything that was going on in the hallway, sometimes at 5 am. Great fitness center included but is shared with locals. Breakfast was included and buffet style, food was not bad. If I came back to Phuket I would get out of Phuket town and stay on the beach!! Hotel is probably one of the nicest in the town but if you're hear for relaxation, head out!

“Anywhere but there!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

We had to stay at this hotel due to a flight disrupt, it could not have got any worse after staying two night in this hotel.

The rooms were dirty, old and poorly maintained. Our bath had a hole in it! and the draws were broken and rooms for our group all smelt. The staff did not communicate with each other, every time we were told something different. The food was a very average standard, much better off going down the road to a small restaurant.

Much better off elsewhere for the money and a far better experience.

Room Tip: Dont go there!

“Bland and unfriendly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

Unfriendly staff and a broken safe that staff spent two hours trying to open whilst we wanted to sleep, didn't make for a good stay. Grubby decor and unpleasant smell of cooking didn't enamour us to the place.

Wish we had stayed in one of the small boutique hotels in the old town.
