“A good choice for Karon”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 February 2011

The hotel was overall quite good - a nice setting for the room, the room itself was very clean, large and comfortable. There is a restaurant with a decent breakfast each morning and it's a five minute walk from the beach over a main road and a canal. A tuk-tuk will take you to where the action is in Karon for about 150baht.

Negatives are the bedroom was FULL of mosquitos when we got there on the first night. They need to block up a few of the gaps that allow them to get in! Also, the bathroom was a bit cheap looking with lots of concrete - a very simple build. The pool also seemed to be a little bit dirty and in need of a good cleaning and scrubbing!

Overall, a good choice. Comfortable, safe and clean but perhaps a little bit expensive compared to other hotels I've stayed at in this price range. Perhaps this is up there with the best in Karon so it justifies it?

“Fantastic Little Place To Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2011

Stayed here for 10 nights with my girlfriend back in September. The hotel was fairly quiet due to time of year (I think only 6 or 7 of the 20 something villas were occupied) but that just made it all the more peaceful and relaxing. As I'm sure previous reviews have all said, the villas were very comfortable, extremely spacious, and nicely decorated. There were always plenty of staff on hand who were always more than helpful. We did have one incident where our toilet got blocked up but the hotel staff saw to it that we were moved to another room in under an hour (the fact they weren't fully booked at the time obviously worked in our favour). The food at the hotel restaurant was very good quality and also quite reasonable priced. We ate lunch a couple of times and an evening meal a couple of times as our tour operator had given us a THB3000 food & drink voucher as part of our package. The daily breakfast was also pretty good. Don't expect a full english every day but they will rustle up eggs for you anyway you like and they also mix up the fare that they put out each day so it doesn't get too boring. The Spa at the bottom of the complex is really nice. It seemed quite 'high-end' compared some of the other places that we saw and this is reflected in the price so if you're someone that likes a massage a day then this might not be for you.

The only issue that I can see anyone might have with this hotel is that it's about a 10 min walk into the main part of Karon, but if that's too long a walk for you then there is a tuk-tuk stand right across the street.

“Tropical Paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 December 2010

We went for a 10 day holiday to Phuket mid 2010 and decided to stay at the Village in Karon beach after seeing their website. It was in a good location, in northern Karon, just a short walk to a great restaurant strip; we were a bit disappointed that there weren't many bars in the area. We got a package deal through the travel agent.

The hotel was a tropical paradise, with our pool access villa nesseled amongst jungle like vegetation. The room and facilaties were beautiful with a very exotic feel. The room had air conditioning, an in-room safe, ketle and hair dryer. The pool was almost entirely ours throughout our stay as it was the off-peak season, which was wonderful, and I enjoyed my private morning swim.

BEWARE: this tropical paradise is located next to a swamp so there are LOTS of mosquitos. Invest in a can of tropical strength insect replent and use before you go outside in the morning. I got devoured by mosiquitos on my first day.

The staff were all lovely and very proud of their work. The only staff member that we didn't enjoy being around was the manager: she was rather cold and uncompromising, and even told us off for feeding the birds when one swooped and picked up part of our breakfast! The atmosphere instantly changed when she was around; it seemed like she made the staff uncomfortable, and we didn't really enjoy being in the hotel when she was there.

There was a no external food allowed in the hotel room, but we often used the back paths to get in and out, so we still managed to get some in and out. The breakfast was lovely and always very filling, no buffet as there wasn't enough guests, instead freshly made from a menu selection. We didn't end up dining at the restaurant for any other meals. There were spa facilaties available but these were very pricey so we didn't try them as cheaper options were available only a short distance away.

We really enjoyed our stay but think that next time we'll probably choose a cheaper hotel as we didn't really spend much time in our room. It would be great for a few days of relaxing.

“Wow what a place just like being in the Jungle"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 November 2010

The place is a hidden Gem. Behind the exteria walls you are transformed into another world . Only 34 Villa's so no over crowding and the hidden spa pool (you need to visit to find it). MAin pool has swim up bar and also Happy Hour. This all awaits you when you arrive, the villas are great also; Large, opens rooms clean more that comfortable and very private. The spa pool is great and could hold 15 people but it's even better with just 2. Only 10 villa's occupied when we arrive, and that just made it even better so very quiet. Spa was on a BOGOFF, so thay was excellent value for money as well. Only let down no free internet but who cares go to the red onion down the road for that. I great Place great staff. THANKS team.
