I have on previous visits (12 times) in Thailand always stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels. Preferably close to the beach, town and partying! This small, comfortable hotel is located slightly outside Kata and Karon, a bit up in the vegetation with a splendid view over the valley and the sea. At first I thought distance to the ocean, beach, town and all partying was difficult but with the hotel's arrangement with Shuttle Bus made me change my mind. My stay lasted for 7 nights including 5 I rented a moped (250 SEK), which made the stay even more wonderful that is. It offers an incredibly lovely atmosphere both in appearance and arrangement of colors and the lovely pool. Not to mention the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Perhaps staff need to improve their English at the risk of the charm is lost! I miss already this small cozy hotel and will most likely cause to come back here and to room 1003. A hotel that really made me relax!

This hotel is situated a distance away from the beaches of Kata, Karon and Patong. If you are looking for an active nightlife and lots of hustle-bustle do not stay here. But if you want to have a relaxed stay, like smaller hotels with individual service and can manage to plan the outings to match with the shuttle then this is the place to be. The service is great, especially if Jeap looks after you. The manager , Ken is very friendly. When we checked out there was slight issue with the bill and it was sorted straight away with no arguments. The room was very spacious, with a very comfortable AC and fan. We did not use the TV much and there was also a small kitchenette. Whilst we stayed at the garden level, I would recommend either the garden level or the ocean view level. The pool side rooms may get noisy when guests use the pool and also the pool has a direct view of the rooms which may cause privacy issues. The restaurant is great (although pricey compared to Phuket town rates). The only downside is as, many have pointed out, it is far away from the city center or the beaches. The uphill walk can be tiring although I did appreciate the daily morning aerobic exercise. The breakfast is excellent, and especialy the Thai choices was refreshingly new. I would have no hesitation coming back-unfortunately the hotel is scheduled to shut down in April for major renovations (expansion)

My wife and I stayed here in early December 2011. We were treated well by the staff. The rooms were clean and the food was good. It's on a steep hill with a 10 - 20 minute walk down to the beach (depending on your pace) . We also used the free shuttle and had no problems with pick up or drop offs.

It's normally easy to find things to complain about, but we genuinely have no complaints. I would recommend especially to people who want a Thailand / Phuket holiday, but don't necessarily want the crowds, noise or drunk Australians that come with it.

The buffet breakfasts were good value for money. Their Pimm's cocktails were yum.

The hotel claims to have a shuttle service to go to the beach and down the city, but the shuttle operates only at specific hours (10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm and 9.45pm).
If you want to leave the hotel (or go back to the hotel) at other times, you can't or you will be charged! Besides, when you use the shuttle you have to tell the driver at what time (between the specific hours mentionned above) you want him to pick you up, which is not very convenient as you don't necesseraly know how much time you want to spend outside.
They were 5 of us, and sometime the shuttle was actually only a normal car, which can accomodate only 4 persons + driver!
And because the hotel is quite some distance away from ... everything, if you want to have lunch or dinner outside (which I would recommend), you basically have to use this shuttle service...!

The service is poor and staff is not friendly. Everytime you ask for something, it seems like you are bothering them! They always manage to have this little word that will just upset you!
The bathrooms stink. The beds are very stiff. Breakfast is very average, nothing to get excited about.

In brief, I would not recommend this hotel.
