“A great location on a beautiful beach.”

The hotel is located at the end of Karon beach, furthest away from Patong. We found the satff to be polite, smart and very helpful. We went with friends to celebrate my wifes birthday. The hotel provided a birthday cake free of charge and beutiful flowers for a small cost. The rooms were basic and a little tired. Although they were cleaned daily and linen changed daily. It had a beautiful view over the bay. Our room was on the top floor of three floors. The air con kept the room cold enough for us. You need to keep the doors and windows shut in the evenings because of the mozzies. Our only complaint was the lack of storage and only six coathangers in the wardrobe. There is a lovely swimming pool overlooking the beach. The beds can be reserved from 7am although we did so at 9am without a real problem. It was just a few steps down to the beach, where two sun beds and a brolley cost 200 baht (about £4) for the day. We ate three evening meals in the hotel beach restaurant. The food here was excellent and we would strongly recommend it. The lunchtime snacks were also excellent. The hotel is within easy walking of shops, restaurants and night life. Opposite is a great family run bar with live music. The only down side to the area is the number of street vendors trying to get you to part with your bahts. Barter and pay less than half what they ask. We booked our trips through the street kiosks which were far less the through our hotel beds.com rep.

Room Tip: Book a top floor room with a great view. Buy your trips through the kiosks outside and get the best...

“Good beach location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

The Karon Beach Resort and Spa is located on the southern end of Karon Beach. The entrance seems quite small, located on a street with many services and restaurants, but the back of the resort spreads out along the beach, with a restaurant overlooking the ocean. The beach is a short flight of steps down from the resort. We were only in Phuket for three nights, spending some of that on a sailing trip on the other side of the peninsula, and the rest lounging at the resort. It's rather large and impersonal, but we had great sunsets and the pool and pool/bar overlooking the beach were perfect. We could watch fireworks at night, and the lighted balloons floating across the sky. We would recommend this hotel and location.

“Perfect location”

My husband and I stayed from 10th of December to the 17th, the hotel is older, but very clean. The location is perfect, the beach right there. Breakfast buffet is average but adequate.Room service prompt, food hot and delicious. The staff are very friendly and helpful. During our stay I had my 50th birthday and i was surprised with a beautiful cake and the reception girls sang Happy Birthday which was fantastic! There were tuk tuks on the street outside the hotel, although we walked to many restaurants and shopping stalls. It was 400 baht each way into Patong for those who needed to go in. The hotel had a more family clientel which was lovely. We will definatley be going back. Brilliant place for total rest and relaxation. We enjoyed the beach and hired sun loungers 200 baht per couple for all day.Free at the pool. The beach traders were not as aggressive as in Patong and massage was available either poolside or on the beach.

Room Tip: We stayed in a pool access room which was quiet. There are no lifts to the other floors so it is a g...

“Nice location, overpriced for New Years.”

Nice enough pool and grounds. Short walk out to center of town, shops and restaurants. Beach is close by and nice. Gouged us on New Years Gala. Hard, uncomfortable bed.

Room Tip: We had a lagoon room with view of Pool on second floor. Not sure paying for a view would be worth it...

“Great beach, service & location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

I made this resort my last stop after traveling through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand for 2.5wks at 2-3 star levels. I like to finish holidays off in style so after much research I chose this establishment over the typical hotel giants.

If your key preference is for direct access to a beach, Karon Beach Resort has it. There are banana lounges that you have to pay the locals for but I just took a towel and dug my own comfortable shape into the sand and lay around for hours with the occassional dip.
On the Beach restaurant was surprisingly good, You end up paying the same price was the outside restaurants so why not enjoy a private beach view?
The buffet breakfast (which you have to pay extra for but highly recommended) is quite good. There's the Asian breakfast of rice/noodles and Western styles of potatoes, frankfurts, spaghetti & meatball (although not to standards of developed nations), cereals, ok coffee, lots of fruit, yoghurt, cold meat, cheese, breads, spreads, pastries and lastly eggs cooked to your liking! There is a guy in the corner who will make eggs on the spot! Amazing!

The resort is located in the hub of Karon strip shops with so many restaurants! But like I said, the resort restaurant is pretty much the same price.
All the souvenir type goods are dearer than Bangkok but what can you expect when Phuket is the tourist hub.
Karon is also within good distance to Patong but a good distance away from the craziness.
I stayed in Phuket town as well which is pretty boring & deserted. I would recommend to stay on the West coast predominantly. Most of the day tour groups (eg Phi Phi & canoe or Ko Samui) do pick ups from the main resort towns anyway so don't feel that you must go to Phuket town.

Reception staff speak pretty close to fluent English. The restaurant manager guy continued to amaze me with his impeccable memory- he just knew to charge to my room everytime I ordered anything.

Also, during one night I had the worst fever so I stayed and and they have great TV channels! Fox movies had a great line up.
the bathroom was great. i had no issues with hot water or pressure.

The few little sighs I had was when:
Other patrons had a full conversation right outside my door at 1am - there should be little signs to 'shut up' in the hallways at 1am.
My room was right outside the Pool Bar so I was hesitant in having my curtain wide open for my entire stay. I would've liked 2nd or 3rd floor for the view with some privacy....
Resort organised transfer buses were too dear at 1000BHT (if alone) or 500BHT with someone else!!! Just because I was alone, I was not going to suffer paying the whole fare! I got one for 250BHT from an outside agent.

There are just families or couples at this resort. Nightlfe is outside in Patong. If you want daytime relaxation and luxury, this is the place to be.

I would sooo go again. Big thumbs up to accessibility to Karon Beach!

Room Tip: 2nd level is better so ýou still have the privacy but with quick access to the beach. I had a room r...
