We have stayed here before two years ago it was magic something to remember.
This time we booked a plunge pool room very nice but little thing spoilt the magic.
1. No towels or robes in the room
2. Shower was dirty not cleaned properly
3. Plunge pool was dirtly however after we found the power switch for the pump it was a lot cleaner
4. Security was lacked
5. Before they had a loverly band at the sands bar sadly it's a disco
6. Breakfast most of the food was cold or bearly warm
7. If you go out the beach door
take care about the Market Thry don't give you a very nice welcome
8. The hotel is still a little expensive, pizza is good and generally very freindly it's not a 4 star resort more of a 3 +
Overall we enjoyed dispite it loosing it's magic hopefully the management may read this and improve

The first part of our trip was in north Phuket which was lovely and quiet. We picked the Movenpick for the second part because it had all the facilities we wanted, was across the road from the beach and in an area where we could literally walk out the door and bars, restaurants etc would be there. Karon is no Patong which for us is great and for others would be a disadvantage. The beauty of trip advisor is you can do your research so you can match what YOU want and what hotels/ locations match it.

Ok the hotel is big but gives you all the advantages of a big hotel. Plenty of options for food, bars, pools etc. The gardens of the hotel are beautiful. We picked a Plunge Pool Villa which was great for us. Granted the plunge pool is like a huge bath but to sit in the cool water and have a drink in the privacy of your own room we loved. There are day beds inside and outside and plenty of room in general. Wi Fi isn't free which was a bit annoying. It cost 2000 baht for 7 days. The staff are super friendly but that is as much about the Thai people as it is about the hotel.

Karon is a lovely beach and two sun lunges and an umbrella is 200 baht a day. There are
markets literally next door and plenty of great and cheap restaurants within a 5 minute walk. It
costs around 400 baht to get a tuk tuk to Patong which takes about 15 minutes. We ended up
only going once but it is still close enough if you feel the need.

All in all a lovely week and meet all of our expectations.

Stayed in this spa resort recently and have revcieved the worst service from the front desk, concierge and the SPA. The support staff (housekeepers and gardeners) was so much more polite and helpful.

The Hotel is huge (has 3 good size swimming pools), good for small families with children but not senior citizens with issue walking (lots of steps and uneven footpath).

By the way they do not have car rental service in the hotel. The staff told me to try somewhere else.

My recommendation is, if you are travelling with children this might work for you. If you are travelling as a couple (newly wed, romantic getaway) please opt for a local boutique hotel, I have visited some and they have really impressed me with their service quality and price.

Movenpick karon is a beautiful hotel with great staff. My partner and I just spent a week here and had a great time. The grounds are beautiful, well maintained and the location is perfect and quiet. We had an ocean view room in the main building which was all we needed- clean, spacious and had a great view of the beach and looked over the main pool. This hotel has everything you will need and the staff will go out of there way to ensure you have a great stay.

We highly recommend this hotel to couples or families.
