“Eleven night stay in a lovely hotel-February 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

My wife and I stayed in a Premium Pearl Suite which was very comfortable and nicely appointed with a pleasant view over the garden. The whole resort has a very relaxed atmosphere with every attention given to detail. The beach is just a few yards away across a road and again there is a large area of hotel beach chairs which are very well serviced with even a Tanning Butler who supplies whatever creams etc you may require. A delightful resort which grows on you every day you stay.

Room Tip: Premium Pearl Suite is worth the extra

“Great Gem!!!”

We have stayed at the Indigo Pearl for at least 5 times during the last 3 years. We were with our kids, on our own and with our friends. Its very close to the Airport - 1o min away. The Beach is very good. No matter which season you come the waves are never strong and big. its safe for kids to play and spent time on it. Sand white and soft. Its a few other hotel on Nai Yang beach but even during the pick season its not like a "zoo" compare to Patong. Just a 10 min walk on the beach you can be on your own with the nature.

Its a unique hotel with industrial theme. You either like it or hate it-). We have stayed in the different room categories. Rooms are good size and have all essential items. I would prefer the room category without the Bath tab outside on the balcony. I don't think I would ever use it as too many mosquitoes. Be aware of the Sand Flies on the beach. Make sure bring special repellent. Google them-). I never knew about them before my hubby got bitten by them.

They toiletries and the handmade soap are the best. House keeping service is not super but very prompt and trying to do their best. We had a several occasions when they would not clean the floor properly and I would still fell the sand on the floor, so we had to ask them to come back and clean the room again. Adults pools are great opportunity to have privacy and stay away from the kids-).

They have a very good Gym and run several class as complementary through the day for you to participate. Try to take advantage of them. Instructor is not advanced but for any beginners it will be a good opportunity to try Yoga, Thai Boxing and etc.

SPA is very unique and beautiful.

Food is excellent. Definitely have to try their Black Ginger restaurant. Lady Thai Chef and her assistant are very cheerful and helpful. They would accommodate your request. We would eat Thai food all day long-). Its delicious. If you don't to dine at the hotel its plenty of choice restaurants on the Beach. If you go for the seafood make sure its fresh. The fish can be a day before which still ok but its not the best to me. Steam or Grill is the best when fish is fresh. Some places give you 10% off from the bill if you ask. Cash only.

I would strongly recommend this place for the Honeymooners and couples. You will have an amazing time.

As for the families with kids. I have 2 kids (toddler and infant) on my own. They have a very good kids club with the kids playground. Whats strange I don't really see kids playing on the playground. Its very sunny. I think if they would make a special kids proof surface instead of sand and will cover it more from the sun it will be a popular spot for kids. Beach toys available for kids on the beach. Rooms are not children friendly as they have many angles which are not proof for toddlers, not talking about crawlers. Open concept bathroom & toilet not for a families with kids. They don't have elevators (3 stores) so you would have to carry stroller up the stairs. They don't have special utensils and kitchen ware for kids. I have given them this feedback 2 years ago and they still don't have them. I don't understand why. The wooden Baby chairs are not safe, especially for kids around 1 year old. They should get rid of them.

We would normally just bare with it as we are happy with the rest and the fact that they have a kids club definitely helps.

“Just what we wanted”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

My wife are both in our 50ths and went to Phuket to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. We split our trip into two with the first 4 days at Indigo Pearl and then 7 days in Karon. Our idea was to spend the first part in a quiet romantic area and then go to the busier part of Phuket.

Indigo is only 10 minutes south of the airport. We had a hotel van pick us up. A nice easy book in and we were drinking cocktails within an hour of our plane arriving.

The hotel is based on a tin mining theme. I know it sounds strange but it is done so well and makes this hotel a unique and beautiful place to stay. We stayed in a Indigo Pearl suite which was lovely. There are plenty of photos in trip advisor so I won't bore you with details but we absolutely loved it.

Whilst not a small hotel the way it is laid out and the having 3 pools it doesn't feel like a big hotel. There is a lovely pool for kids and an adult pool with swim up bar which was great. The hotel also has it's own beach club. I won't pretend it is the best swimming beach but still fine by us.

The other geat ting about Indigo Pearl is it's location. Ya NIng Beach is beside a national park which to a point has restricted greater development. For us there was enough shops, restaurants and massage options. If you were only going to stay here it is a long way to Patong and good shopping. Other than bars and restaurants there isn't much night life. But that is why we picked it. The restaurants all have beach dining. To be able to have your table and chairs in the sand and drink cheap cocktails whilst watching the sun set was wonderful.

Certainly a great option if you are splitting your time in Phuket and are happy just with your partners company.

Room Tip: Get a pearl suite overlooking to pool.

“Really nice place, but expensive for what you get compared to others”

I am not sure quite how to review this hotel, there are so many plus points, but overall we would rate it a 4. We stayed at Indigo Pearl in January for 4 nights and had a very nice relaxing stay. The hotel is really nice and modern and attention to detail to reflect the mining industry, is superb.

Here are the pros and cons of this hotel:

Pro's:
Big hotel with lots to do (some complain it's a maze getting round, but it really is not that difficult).
Great restuarants (can highly recommend Black Ginger)
Pools are great (2 adult pools with no children made it much more relaxing). Pools 2 & 3 were infinity pools with lots of room to sun bathe.
As were on honeymoon they made a real effort with us - bottle of bubbles in the room, Rose petal bath outside, invited to complementary cocktails on the beach (which was very nice and romantic) and we were given a room upgrade from a d-buk to a pool pavilion. These were all great touches, but remember to take your marriage certificate with you.
Location is great, right next to the beach. There are load of options of eating out, getting suite tailored, bars and shops. Food in the beach restaurants is very good and is a good alternative to the hotel's restaurants. Defo make sure you give the hotel's Black Ginger a go there, we loves it there.
Spa looks amazing, although we did not have any treatments, so cannot review this.

Con's:
We were upgraded to a pool pavilion as we were on honeymoon. The room was very nice and we had an outside terrace and private pool. However, the outside was completely shaded (as it appears with all pool pavilions) so there was never a time when we wanted to go into the pool. When paying £250 a night in Thailand, I would expect to be able to get sun in your private area. It made the outside useless to us.
Without the complementary room upgrade, we would say £250 a night is overpriced when compared to other places we stayed in Phuket.
When paying so much per night, the mini bar (soft drinks at least) should be complementary. Not the be all and end all, but it would be a nice touch.

In conclusion, if you stay here it is a very nice hotel and you will have a great time. Don't bother paying for a pool pavilion though and in our opinion, if you are going to pay £250 for a d-buk room, you can get much better value in other parts of Phuket. Please see my review of Villa Zolitude, which was a very similar price, but much more private, with it's own 2 storey standalone villa and private infinity pool - all in the sun!! :-) This place is much smaller and therefore you get more of a feeling of exclusivity.

We would stay at Indigo Pearl again, but only if we could get a room for £150 a night. We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very polite and always had a welcoming smile. Thanks Indigo Pearl!! :-)

“Beautiful resort; amazing wedding venue”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We had our wedding at Indigo Pearl and found the whole experience wonderful. Pity we can't re-live it every year! We weren't able to visit the venue before the week of the wedding, so all the organising was done over email. Initially I felt a little bit anxious about that, but on arrival we were immediately reassured. The wedding planner was lovely, very organised and within a couple of hours of arrival we were shown to where the ceremony would be (at a nearby national park, on the beach-stunning), and the reception venue. She was there throughout the wedding day and made sure everything went smoothly, which it did. There was absolutely no hassle for us, and she organised everything including the make up artist, hairdresser, photographer, set up of the ceremony, guests transport to the venue and our transport in a wedding tuk tuk!
The real highlights of the wedding included the ceremony and how beautifully it was set up on the beach; the food (thai food- huge amounts and so delicious, professionally presented with chefs present throughout the night); and how accommodating and helpful all the staff were, especially the wedding planner.
The only small negative was the photographer, who did an ok job, but some of the photos taken weren't great. It may be possible to negotiated with the resort about finding your own in phuket (there seem to be a few websites, but we didn't look into this in details)
The resort itself is also very beautiful and the tin-mine design gives it a funky/modern feel to it.
Rooms were beautiful, there are a number of pools, 2 in very pretty settings. The food was delicious at all the restaurants (including the breakfast).
