I am not sure quite how to review this hotel, there are so many plus points, but overall we would rate it a 4. We stayed at Indigo Pearl in January for 4 nights and had a very nice relaxing stay. The hotel is really nice and modern and attention to detail to reflect the mining industry, is superb.
Here are the pros and cons of this hotel:
Pro's:
Big hotel with lots to do (some complain it's a maze getting round, but it really is not that difficult).
Great restuarants (can highly recommend Black Ginger)
Pools are great (2 adult pools with no children made it much more relaxing). Pools 2 & 3 were infinity pools with lots of room to sun bathe.
As were on honeymoon they made a real effort with us - bottle of bubbles in the room, Rose petal bath outside, invited to complementary cocktails on the beach (which was very nice and romantic) and we were given a room upgrade from a d-buk to a pool pavilion. These were all great touches, but remember to take your marriage certificate with you.
Location is great, right next to the beach. There are load of options of eating out, getting suite tailored, bars and shops. Food in the beach restaurants is very good and is a good alternative to the hotel's restaurants. Defo make sure you give the hotel's Black Ginger a go there, we loves it there.
Spa looks amazing, although we did not have any treatments, so cannot review this.
Con's:
We were upgraded to a pool pavilion as we were on honeymoon. The room was very nice and we had an outside terrace and private pool. However, the outside was completely shaded (as it appears with all pool pavilions) so there was never a time when we wanted to go into the pool. When paying £250 a night in Thailand, I would expect to be able to get sun in your private area. It made the outside useless to us.
Without the complementary room upgrade, we would say £250 a night is overpriced when compared to other places we stayed in Phuket.
When paying so much per night, the mini bar (soft drinks at least) should be complementary. Not the be all and end all, but it would be a nice touch.
In conclusion, if you stay here it is a very nice hotel and you will have a great time. Don't bother paying for a pool pavilion though and in our opinion, if you are going to pay £250 for a d-buk room, you can get much better value in other parts of Phuket. Please see my review of Villa Zolitude, which was a very similar price, but much more private, with it's own 2 storey standalone villa and private infinity pool - all in the sun!! :-) This place is much smaller and therefore you get more of a feeling of exclusivity.
We would stay at Indigo Pearl again, but only if we could get a room for £150 a night. We enjoyed our stay, the staff were very polite and always had a welcoming smile. Thanks Indigo Pearl!! :-)
