We booked this hotel for a quick jaunt to Germany to check out the Christmas decorations. We were very pleased with the hotel.

Hotel is a beautiful old country house located about 10 minutes by car outside the center of Trier. Since we had a rental car this was no problem, however I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone relying on public transport. Hotel has a nice yard along with a water wheel.

The hotel staff were very polite during our short stay. We arrived before the 3pm check-in time and though our room wasn't ready they let us in anyways so we could shower and change after our flight to Germany. In addition we had to check out early to catch a flight back so they were very kind in letting us pay the night before. They actually knocked 28 Euro cents off the total bill which is just something you don't see every day.

The rooms are clean and functional. This isn't a luxury establishment by any means but if you're looking for an inviting and comfortable place to stay then this is it. Our room had a bed, plenty of closet/wardrobe space, a table and a few chairs and a nook near the window with a desk. The bathroom was pretty small but it did the trick.

In any case if you're comfortable staying outside of Trier and driving a few minutes to get into town then this is a great place to stay. There is also a restaurant downstairs but we didn't get a chance to sample it.
