“Peace,quiet, luxury...total relaxation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

We have just returned from a wonderful two day stay at Harptree Court; it is so good we didn't do a review after our first visit we wanted to keep it secret! However, we decided we can't be there all the time:( so it's only right that Linda and Charles get the recognition they so deserve.
Linda and Charles make you feel thoroughly welcome into their home, Linda's lemon cake and tea are superb and very welcome after your journey. The rooms are all spacious, beautifully furnished and so comfortable. The bathroom provides soft fluffy towels and gorgeous toiletries, any forgotten bits are readily to hand. The peace is just outstanding, you truly can't hear anything except the birds....The beds are so comfortable you don't want to get out of them!
The views from the rooms are beautiful and the gardens are free to explore - tree fanatics will find some unusual species.. The local pub provides excellent food and is only a short walk away. Linda and Charles provide the torch! as indeed they cover all those other little details nothing is ever too much trouble.
We had treatments - Reflexology and an Indian head massage in our room which added an extra level of relaxation and indulgence.
The foods provided are either from the estate or very local Linda and Charles are thoroughly part of the local community so if you enjoy a slow pace, peace and quiet being totally spoilt in a beautiful location then this is the place for you

“Treehouse - Magical and relaxing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

I have just come back from staying at the Treehouse at Harptree court for two nights and it was amazing!
It is the most relaxing place I have ever been and the whole interior design of the treehouse is fab. We loved the copper bath tub and the food was amazing, especially the famous lemon cake :)
Nothing was too much trouble and even though it is fairly expensive to stay here it is worth every penny.
We went to the Waldegrave Arms for food one night, which we would recommend as well.
It was pure luxury and would love to visit again :)

“Total Bliss”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

This is a superb "B&B", which I have put in inverted commas because it's actually like a 5 star country house hotel at a quarter of the price. The house itself is full of history and in a completely tranquil place.
The rooms are elegant, very large, light and airy. The location and grounds glorious.
There are local eateries for dinner both a short car ride away (3 miles or so) or an easy stroll of 3 minutes into the village.
Breakfast is stunning - quite simply the bst we've had anywhere (Pru Leith agrees - and has said so in her own recommendation).
Linda is a tour de force, providing an incredibly welcoming pot of tea and lemon drizzle cake to die for. Plus maps and even reading glasses if yuo forget yours.
We've been twice and cannot wait for our next visit.

Room Tip: Both of the rooms that we have had were overlooking the lawn at the front of the main house. They ar...

“If I were to tell you which place I had stayed in so far was the best, it has to be Harptree Court”

Incredibly private, warm, spacious, the house is immaculate. I work in London and my life has been incredibly stressful. I haven't relaxed properly even when I have been abroad on holiday yet, we arrived at Harptree Court on New Years Eve, expecting nothing. We had a bottle of Champagne and some M&S food. Our hosts greeted us warmly and supplied champagne flutes and plates for our food. We were shown to our beautiful room, light and airy, the bed linen so soft and bed so big. The room was incredibly clean, tidy and smelt fresh. It was warm too and decorated with beautiful antique furniture in restful colours. My husband and I hadn't slept so well in ages! Hot water, all the toiletries you could ask for and natural ones that smelt gorgeous and worked. Soft towels, TV, internet if you wanted it. We went to sleep in the dark and peace and woke to birds and a beautiful view. Our hosts were always attentive and supplied us with milk for our tea and coffee and maps and torches. There was nothing we were short of. The house welcomed us with a roaring fire in the hallway and we were fed the most amazing breakfasts each day, to set us up for our day's walking. I found peace like I haven't had for many years and I found it at Harptree. That sort of experience is priceless and on that basis we will hopefully be visiting again very soon, as often as London allows. Huge thanks to Charles and Linda for being utterly amazing. I forgot my perfume in the bathroom and they kindly sent it back to me promptly in the post. All these small but huge touches are there. Not often found anywhere else. Paradise!

“My best experience of 2011”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2012

My husband took me to Harptree Court for a two night stay for my birthday in September 2011. I am always a little dubious about bed and breakfast establishments because we have had some bad experiences over the years however Harptree Court was wonderful, absolutely brilliant. Our room was sumptuous - spacious, comfortable, beautifully decorated and presented and the bathroom was larger than my bedroom at home. The floor to ceiling windows gave a wonderful view of the gardens while relaxing in the free standing bath. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived and we felt very much at home. It is most certainly an experience I would love to repeat.

Room Tip: We had the Pink room but all rooms look equally gorgeous
