After reading previous reviews we weren't looking forward to staying at the Malisa Villas only to be thoroughly disappointed.
When checking in we were told to go across to the restaurant to wait while our room was being prepared. It was empty and no one serving which didn't create a good first impression. We were shown to our room which was very tired looking with flaking paint and varnish, a couple of missing tiles from the pool, one of the curtains was hanging down off the hooks and the air conditioning was very noisy. There were no drawers to unpack into and only 3 hangers each to use. The sun was on the deck until 1 pm and then shaded for the remainder of the day. Our view was a 40ft wall topped by 4 water tanks and we were also overlooked slightly by the hotel next door. (1107)
We asked to move to another villa. The staff were polite and helpful and we would be moved that day at 2 pm. In fact we didn't move until 6 pm that evening. We were upgraded to a larger room with quieter air conditioning. Unfortunately our neighbours returned from a night out at 4.30 am. We didn't sleep for the rest of the night. The way the villas are positioned ie back to back it sounds like they are on your decking. There is little noise privacy because of the way the villas are positioned. The villa we are in now gets no sun at all on the deck (room 1204) and we are currently waiting to be moved from Malisa Villas to another hotel.
