“Good but not perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We visited this hotel back in 2010 (August) for just one night as we moved on to Phi Phi Islands.
The hotel rooms were absolutely amazing. Super clean, elegant and confortable beds.
The pool was probably the best thing of all.
The personal was also very friendly, especially the guy at the pool, and made us having a good day.

The location is pretty quiet, nice if you want to relax, the only thing I didn't like was that little river right in front of the hotel, pretty dirty and full of ants.

If I'd go ever again to Kata beach, this hotel would be my choice

“Fantastic view over Kata Bay and Beach”

More than 100 sailing boats in the bay participating in The Phuket Kings Cup Regatta was an amazing view. The hotel is built in the cliff and has spacious rooms and an interesting architecture. When going back to the hotel – take a tuk-tuk. The hill road is steep.
Don’t even think about going to the beach down/up the jungle path. It is slippery, mudded and dirty at the bottom. Concrete blocks (former quay) are very difficult to force.
We missed a small table and a chair in the room. Only 1 chair is available. The price level for extras is quite high.

“Amazing views, huge rooms, good location”

Stayed in aspasia with 3 girlfriends. Booked a deal on a Garden room through agoda but upgraded to sea view in a suite with 2 bedrooms , lounge and huge balcony.
Room fantastic, jacuzzi, double sinks, walk in shower, beautiful view of sea, kitchenette.
Only issue is very noisy air con makes it difficult to sleep at night.
Good size swimming pool although one block is being renovated and
This looks over the pool so this was noisy during the day. We went to the beach via a short 10 min walk and hired sunbeds. Easy 5 min walk to the shops and great restaurants.
Had a drink in hotel one night but no one else in bar and was all shut up by 1030- we had to turn the fans off ourselves!
Service Ok but similar to all places we visited-could be improved.
Would recommend this hotel.

“Best Hotel I have ever stayed in”

This hotel was fantastic for the money we paid. The staff were the most friendliest and the size of the bed rooms and view were incredible. When you arrive there are fresh flowers on the bed and its so peacful and quiet that we often had the pool to ourselves. There are waterfalls outside the bedrooms and the gardens are so pretty.

The walk down to the beach is a bit dodgy i.e. i dont think its suitable for children and the elderly as like one of the other reviews says it is a windy little dirt track with no hand rail in some places, and then when you get to the very end of the path you come out onto a concrete road that has collapsed so you have to climb over broken bits of concrete to reach the other side. Once on the other side the road ends and you have to climb over beach rocks and under boat tie up lines and then you are on the beach. (See Photo)

However you do not have to take this path you can always just walk out the front of the hotel and down the main road as that leads to the beach as well. It just takes a bit longer.

If you dont mind all this then you will love this hotel. The sunset on the beach is magnificent and the food served is brilliant ranging from Thai dishes to western cuisine. You are in a perfect location to walk into town although do be advised that Aspasia is on a steep hill, but Tuc Tucs are so cheap.

My partner and I loved this hotel as it really was out of the way and peacful. We thought it was brilliant for the price we paid and would definetly go back. You even get a complimentary free thai body massage.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room that is next to the pool, the room we had had the best view and was on the se...

“Very disappointing”

Do not believe what Aspasia claim on their website! The walk to the beach is not two minutes and certainly not through their beautiful gardens. It is in fact a hazardous hike down a steep hill with no hand rail in places, no defined steps and generally a dirty and dangerous walk - so much so, that there is a disclaimer by the hotel management at the top of the walk stating that you take the walk at your own risk and that they accept no responsibility for any accidents!
Now, on to the room........first impression was "wow"! Lovely big room, great bathroom and great view. On closer inspection we found pubic hair in the shower and toilet - yuck! Also, the room had a partition door to the next room.......we could see into the next room as there was about an inch of a gap all around the door frame. We spoke to reception about it and asked to be moved to another room but they said that all of the rooms had partition doors. We booked through Agoda, so we contacted them straight away and told them that we would be leaving (had booked in for a week). Agoda were great and refunded the majority of what we had paid. We went on-line and booked a room on Coral Island (stayed there last year and loved it, plus it was close by so we didn't have to travel too far). I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - it was an absolute disgrace. To top it off, the breakfast buffet was disgusting - flies all over the food and my husband left the Aspasia with a bad case of food poisoning. Book this hotel at your peril.
