“Fantastic!!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 February 2012

We stayed at Sawasdee for 5 days with 3 other couples. From the moment we arrived we were extremely impressed. The resort is set amongst beautiful gardens and traditional Thai architecture. We had a garden view rooms which was lovely and each had it’s own computer which was great. We ate at the hotel restaurant on the first night and the food was excellent. The breakfast was also one of the best buffets I have ever had. The staff were extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. I would also highly recommend the cooking class – it was so professional and we made some really delicious Thai food. Originally we had thought about staying in Patong and I’m so glad we didn’t. Patong is so crazy and busy and it was really nice to be able to come back to this peaceful oasis each night. Kata also has lots of great restaurants and it’s only a short taxi ride to most of the tourist attractions.

Room Tip: The garden view room was really nice and I would recommend it but if you want luxury and you can aff...

“An Amazing Oasis”

My husband and I stayed at the Sawasdee a couple of years ago and loved every single thing about our Garden Room. The restaurant is impressive, the staff is even better and the room was gorgeous. When we went back in January 2011, we were expecting to be happy but not bowled over. Wrong! This place still thrilled from start to finish. We used the spa service and it was superlative and we left Thailand with smiles on our faces already planning our third trip...back to the Sawasdee. Kop-Khun-Kha!

Room Tip: If offered an upgrade: take it!

“beautiful grounds, outstanding staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

we spent a week at Sawasdee in late January, and just LOVED the hotel grounds, which were peaceful and idyllic. the hotel staff was incredibly gracious and helpful, and they were so kind and sweet to our two young kids. We were worried it would be a little bit tough to be there with young kids, but they made it easy for us. The rooms are well sound proofed and there are lots of things to look at in the early morning with a little early riser baby! frogs, lights, fish, and kind hotel staff ;) The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and was a HUGE part of how much we enjoyed this place - open early, and our family filtered in through the morning while we early risers sipped espressos and fed pancakes and made-to-order omelets to the kids.

Rooms were kind of small, but cozy. Not much wiggle room with a king bed and a crib, but we made it work!

The only thing I didn't love is the location, on a slightly busy / touristy street and access to Kata beach, which is also quite the tourist scene. We paid a bit of extra $ to take a taxi to a different beach further south which was more quiet, worth the $ to be out of the fray a bit.

Huge thank you to the staff of Sawasdee, who made our stay in Thailand so lovely!!!

“An amazing little paradise within a paradise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We spent our first couple nights in a regular room and the last night in a Villa suite. The regular room was nicely furnished tho a tad snug. Each room has a patio that opens into foliage with sounds of trickling water everywhere. One could stay within the hotel and be perfectly happy. The pool isn't very deep but its beautiful and includes a swim up bar. It's sad they close the pool at 7 pm which seems early. There are nooks and crannies everywhere with comfy love seats and swings for a little romance or a good book. Breakfast was included with our room and it was fairly good. I loved the walk past the koi pond to get to breakfast. Every morning they set out toast that you can feed the fish with.
The Villa suites are amazing and are. Loser to small apartments. If you can afford it, it's really worth it. They're closed off in its own area with a huuuge pool shared by only 12 rooms. It has its own swim up bar and its own dining area. I really loved the jacuzzi in the suite and you can open the door to swim out to your own secluded wading area. Open another gate and you can swim out to the main pool. The place comes with a bathroom upstairs and downstairs. But the best is the integrated foot baths with sofa at the end of the bed. Nice way to soak your feet and watch tv at the end of the day. Only drawback was the wooden clouds everywhere was super slippery.
And although they fumigate nightly, there are still a few mosquitos around. But that's to be expected with so much water around.
