We stayed two nights to go on the Doubtful Sound trip nearby.

The most appealing thing about this motel is the view. Each unit looks over Lake Manapouri and the hills and is fantastic to wake up to. We stayed in one of the units at the front and had a bedroom, bathroom and sofabed in the living area. We also had a small kitchen area. The accomodation is basic but comfortable and everything works. The location is great for Doubtful Sound tours, it is a 2 minute drive or 15 min walk downhill to the pier. It's also just a 15 min drive from nearby Te Anau where there is a supermarket and plenty of restaurants and cafes. A short walk across the road takes you to the beach and there are also plenty of short walks through wooded areas nearby.

It's not 5 star accomodation but it more than comfortable and the location is worth it.

Clean, comfortable rooms. Excellent location. Would suggest you avail of the cooking facilities rather than use the cafe - food very average. I don't know if they are part of the motel so have excluded thoughts on the cafe when scoring the motel.

Situated in a quiet location oppositte some of the most picturesque scenery in the world and also close enough to Te Anau with it's more than adequate little town centre.
Rooms were comfortable and the kitchen on the premises was just right for cooking our own meals. Would definitely reccomend and would stay here again anytime.
The only negative was that the shower which was far too low for me and the waterflow from the shower head was very weak and either too hot or too cold.

The room was clean and the kitchenette was nice to have. The restaurant is right next door, and as pretty much the only option in town, it was convenient. The food is OK, but the beer was cold.

Our room was in the front near reception, so it got a little noisy when guests would check in or return in the evening.

Internet access was expensive.

The staff allowed us to leave our bags overnight after we checked out for our Doubtful Sound cruise, which was very nice.
