My wife and I spent three nights at the Hotel Des Grands Crus in September 2010 shortly before the grape harvest was to begin. It was a treat being surrounded by vineyards full of rapidly ripening pinot noir, and from our bedroom window you could almost reach out and pluck a bunch if you wanted.
Des Grands Crus is a good, basic hotel offering fair value for money, and the management was very helpful in offering advice and arranging dinner reservations at local restaurants. Its location makes it ideal for touring the Cote D'Or wine producing villages. Plus, Dijon and Beaune are both close by, and both are well worth visiting. Another worthwhile visit is Chauteauneuf, a beautiful, small village located on a hill offering stunning views of the Auxois Valley.
