“Nice Night in the Vineyards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 December 2011

We had 2 single nights here (on our way to and from Belgium). The first night our room was one flight up. The bed was very small and so was the bathroom. But, there was a very nice view of the vineyards from our window. The second time we requested a room with a larger bed and were put in a room on the first level. No view but a better night's sleep. Breakfast was good and cost 12€ each. In my opinion this is fine considering the rather inexpensive price of the room. It also gives you rhe choice to take breakfast or not. We will be happy to return.

“Could benefit from some improvements”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

Hotel les Grand Crus is in a beautiful area but it could benefit from some improvements. Upon check in, I learned that identical rooms on lower floors cost $15 (per floor) more, and breakfast was an additional $25 for two. The hotel is clean but dank, and its main asset is the lovely outdoor patio and friendly dog. Because there is no shower curtain, everything in the casket-size bathroom gets wet, and hence, the towels must be changed daily (thereby negating any cost saved by buying a shower curtain). The owners are obviously concerned about cost; the reading lights are barely adequate and no tissues (except toilet paper) are provided. The area is quite beautiful and the hotel is located away from the main street, overlooking a vineyard. This is a good place to stay if you are visiting Dijon and Beaune, and, despite the luxury the area connotes, are not looking for luxury.

“Small, country hotel in the vineyards”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 April 2011

We had a nice 2 day stay at this hotel in early April. The rooms are basic but clean. The bed was very uncomfortable though and too small. We did not rest well. The bath is small but adequate. The room was made up but the bathroom not cleaned on our 2 night stay. Breakfast is in a delightful sunny room on the main floor and is a nice spread of patisserie, jams, meats and cheese. Wi-Fi was good so we took our coffees out on to the patio and did some online work. A lovely morning in the vineyards. Great location for tasting the Cote d'Or.

“A nice hotel in the midst of some of the most famous vineyards in France”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2010

My wife and I spent three nights at the Hotel Des Grands Crus in September 2010 shortly before the grape harvest was to begin. It was a treat being surrounded by vineyards full of rapidly ripening pinot noir, and from our bedroom window you could almost reach out and pluck a bunch if you wanted.

Des Grands Crus is a good, basic hotel offering fair value for money, and the management was very helpful in offering advice and arranging dinner reservations at local restaurants. Its location makes it ideal for touring the Cote D'Or wine producing villages. Plus, Dijon and Beaune are both close by, and both are well worth visiting. Another worthwhile visit is Chauteauneuf, a beautiful, small village located on a hill offering stunning views of the Auxois Valley.

“Perfect Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2009

My group from Philadelphia stayed here for three days and everyone loved this hotel. From the warm and generous welcome extended to us by the owner, Marie Paule, to the lovely, quiet rooms with views onto the beautiful vineyards of the Côte de Nuits. The reception area, with a cozy wood fire burning, is large and comfortable, the perfect place to unwind in the evening with a fine bottle of wine (the hotel’s wine list features magnificent bottles from Gevrey Chambertin and the immediate surroundings). Breakfast is generous, diverse, and delicious, with homemade jams and a fine selection of cheeses and charcuterie (not to speak of the local fresh baked goods). From the hotel, it is only a five-minute walk to the center of town where you can find a good variety of restaurants (we liked the excellent and fairly priced Chez Guy). When the group did not feel like going out in the evening, Marie Paule allowed us to use the breakfast room as a picnic area, a kind gesture we appreciated a lot. If you travel in the Côte d’Or area, I most highly recommend this hotel.
