“Camping at Manior de Maffrecourt”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

We spent two weeks camping at Le Manior de Maffrecourt. We loved the ethos of quiet, rustic, car free camping. Grant and Sandra were so welcoming and helpful, giving us local information and suggestions for days out. Their hospitality was really first rate. It was lovely to be amongst the chickens and ducks as they wandered in the orchard. The gites looked great, and were done to a very high standard. We would have loved to stay in one of them.
We would rate every aspect of the campsite as 5 star, except the solar showers. These worked brilliantly when the weather was hot, but when it was cool or rainy, the water wasn't as warm. Apart from this, our stay was perfect. Check out the website Champagne under canvas for more details. Thanks so much for the great experience Grant and Sandra.

“lovely bubbly gite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We stayed in gite Cerise for 2 nights and it was lovely. We were very well looked after and ate the delicious home cooking for both breakfasts and a dinner. I think there's a fantastic range of choice especially considering you can order up to the evening before so Sandra obviously keeps very well stocked. Also made good use of the range of champagnes and wine available. It is such a bonus to be able to just wander next door and choose from such a great range. Extra touches like free eggs from the hens (which if we hadn't been too lazy to cook would have been perfect!) are really thoughtful. Although we didn't camp, we were also impressed by the way the campsite had been laid out so that all the pitches had privacy and were opposite meadow flowers. Plus we had a dog and he was made very welome too.

“Wonderful concept, with perfect hosts and beautiful campsite"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2011

We stayed for 3 nights in this fantastic campsite. We loved how you had your own private pitch, yet everyone was still super friendly.
The highlight of our stay was being able to have a campfire and a bbq with some fantastic local french produce and of course champagne!
Only drawback was the weather...which meant there wasn't enough sun to use the solar showers... but the local swimming pool helped us out here!

“Perfect campsite for getting away from it all”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

We had a fantastic time camping here this summer and were made very welcome by Grant and Sandra. There is so much space for children to explore and the pool is a bonus on a hot day. During our stay the weather was mixed but this didn't stop us having a wonderful time exploring all the WW1 sites and of course the champagne houses. Grant gave us some excellent tips for places to visit and we felt very privileged to have visited some of the more 'off the beaten track' sites known only to locals.

Please note that this is an eco campsite and is designed perfectly for getting back to nature. If you want entertainment, communal washing facilities etc then go somewhere else. Leave this little gem for us nature lovers!

“Chillaxing to the max!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 August 2011

This was only our second ever time camping - now we're hooked! We instantly left behind the manic UK lifestyle being led by time, mad traffic, TV and mod cons - we didn't need any of it and didn't miss it - it was more of a culture shock coming home!!!!! "Farmer" Grant (as our 2 year old son liked to call him) and Sandra, thank you for being so welcoming, kind and helpful, we will definitely be back and wished we'd booked a longer holiday! Jason also now wants to move to France!!!!!!! We went to Disneyland but if you ask our 6 year old the best part of the holiday she says camping and the pool!!!! (says it all really doesn't it!?)
