“Adults Only - Excellent”

This is an excellent site. After travelling in a motorhome through EU, UK, and now Ireland, this is probably in the top 5 of the more then 60 sites we have visited in the last 4 months.

It is not a large site (part of the appeal - so book ahead in season) but everything is modern and well maintained, with extras like the club room. The Hosts were very helpful on things to do in the area, and even helped out when we had to inspect a possible leak on the roof of our motorhome. It rains a lot here...

The Cairn sites around here and Silgo are very impressive. Silgo is a pain for parking - we parked down near the Quay and walked back into town. The Tourist Info Centre is not in the centre but up the hill almost outside the town.

When will Ireland learn that if they accommodate campervans with some dedicated parking like most of the rest of the EU, then we might spend a lot of euros in their town.

Would definitely visit here again. To the person upset about the adults only classification - please understand that 99% of sites do cater for children, so please let those of us that don't wish to enjoy ourselves occasionally.

Room Tip: Don't bring children.

“So welcoming !!!!!!”

Well it was our first (and i hope many many more) visit to Lough Arrow camping park,we arrived on Friday morning with our friends and this was the start of a great weekend. we were made very welcome by the owners Mary and Terry. OMG!!! the place is spotless clean and was such a pleasure to use the showers and toilets. we had a lovey nite with all the regular customers and the owners in the fantastic club room ,which was so cosy with the lit fire, bliss!!!!
i would highly recommend this site, it may not allow children, but if you want a quiet relaxing time this is the spot.Once again "thank you"to the owners Mary and Terry for restoring my faith in some of the Irish owned caravan parks, it is refreshing to see that not all of the people in this business are out to rip the public off with high prices for below standards facilities, just because they may have other favorable attractions. keep up the fantastic work ,we will be back !!!!

“Families not welcome”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 August 2011

We couldn't believe when owner would not admit us to this campsite because we have, wait for it - CHILDREN!
It seems dogs are welcome, but not children. Does this not discriminate???

“What a great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2010

This place is everything it is hyped up to be - and then some! After a few badly treated camp sites we've been to prior to coming here - with kids running riot and wrecked loos etc. this place was such a revelation. I used their amenities first and was so blown away by the cleanliness of it all that I lead my partner in blind-folded and "revealed" the glory at the push of the light switch. It really is that great! I don't think I have ever seen a public space so cared for and lovingly maintained! Unfortunately we experienced a period of heavy rainfalls there which brought unprecedented amounts of water and got the underground sewage levels up (we were in a tent - so "nose to the ground). But even so I would have liked to "move in". Thumbs up to the owners (ex-pat Brits with a nice sense of humour)... oh and did I mention...no kids? Heaven on Earth!

“Stunning Natural Beauty overlooking Lough Arrow.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2008

Visited on 17th October, 2008.

This award winning site is everything I imagined it to be situated in a serene locality overlooking Lough Arrow. This Adult site provides spacious modern amenities maintained to the highest standards providing free spacious showers, privacy cubicles, ladies hair dryer, hand dryers, laundry room, wash up facilities and campers kitchen with free hot and cold running water.

When we arrived we were welcomed by Mary Wilson who runs this site with her husband Terry. There are 20 pitches with 10 amp electric hook ups. It's the first camping site I have visited that felt like a close knit community. It was so peaceful and rural yet within easy reach of Boyle which is located approx. 6 miles away.

This was their second last weekend of the season, they will reopen again on March 17th. In spite of the cold weather there were several campers enjoying their weekend break in this calm rural location surrounded by beautiful scenery.

This is a fisherman's paradise with catches last month weighing over seven pounds. The Wilsons keep a log of all fish caught during the season.

We loved this place and cannot wait to return next year. If you want to get away from everything and just relax this is the place to be.
