“Excellent food, very warm welcome”

Our Friday night dinner at the Clos de la Prarie, while staying overnight at the hotel, was a big success. We were there with our children (10, 12 and 13) who can be picky eaters (one veggie). Sebastian spent a lot of time explaining what was on the menu and checking our preferences - he clearly cares a great deal about looking after his customers. Everything was beautifully presented, fresh and delicious, with original flavours, lots of attention to detail yet none of the stuffiness or pretentiousness typical of some restaurants with such high quality food. Even the fussiest eater at our table was very happy. Would highly recommend.

“Fantastic food with a genial host who opened just for us.”

I travelled with my wife and the hosts of our accommodation booked the restaurant for us on the Sunday evening.
When we arrived, there was nobody else around and when I asked Sebastian if he was exopecting anybody, he told me that he had not been planning to open that evening but had opened just for us.
He gave us the choice of the whole menu which was cooked to perfection.
He also showed us the new hotel rooms that he has just had built next to the restaurant and we booked a room for our return trip.
The stay was excellent, the room incredibly clean, luxurious and quiet. We were the only guests as I don't think many people know of the rooms as they have been open a month.
The restaurant doesn't open on a Wednesday but we bought a picnic in and Sebastian provided us with a table, crockery and cutlery so we could eat on the terrace outside our room.
A perfect evening that we couldn't fault.

“An excellent choice even with young children”

We have been to this Restaurant more than once and on each occasion we had an excellent time. The last time we even had our, 20 month old grandaughter who was made very welcome and entertained, allowing the adults to enjoy the exquisite cuisine. The patron and his wife have twin daughters under 5 therefore are very welcoming to families with youngsters. Highly recommended to all parties.

“Worth a detour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 April 2009

At the recommendation of friends, we stopped here for lunch whilst en route from Calais to Amiens. It was well worth the detour. The restaurant forms one side of an old courtyard with views over the surrounding countryside. Inside it is stylishly modern, light, airy and elegant. Our large party (there were 11 of us) was warmly welcomed and efficiently served. The set menu at 34 euros was excellent value and the food very good indeed, from the cauliflower soup amuse bouche to the exquisite desserts. Our lunch here was the start of a memorable anniversary weekend, and we couldn't have chosen better. We shall certainly return.
