We were picked up at the airport by the hotel staff and had a comfortable drive to Villa Rosa.The property has a great view!
The hotel staff are extremely courteous.They ensured that we got more than what we needed.The food was excellent and we absolutely enjoyed dining there.
The rooms are comfortable although not plush.The bathrooms definitely needed work!
We used the hotel car for sightseeing in Kandy,trip to sigiriya and also to be dropped off at Colombo.Our driver was very helpful.

We stayed two nights in what turned out to the honeymoon suite. It was very comfortable with a huge terrace with day bed and bath (!). The bathroom wasn’t very big but was fine for our needs. The room was located at the very top of the property and was very quiet and private. The food and service were both very good. The views from the terrace are stunning and you feel quite privileged to be eating good food with such a backdrop. Kandy is a wonderful place and Villa Rosa is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of the town.

My boyfriend and I spent three nights at Villa Rosa - and only wished we could have stayed longer.
The hotel is a bumpy, steep drive up from Kandy - but you are rewarded with what can only be described as the best view in Sri Lanka. The host and all the staff were wonderful - faultless. We spent two nights in room 3 (with a private balcony and prime view), then moved into the smaller room 2 for one night. Both rooms were clean and comfortable, offering everything you need including a fantastic power shower.
The standard of the food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing, if staying here you must try the traditional Sri Lankan breakfast (order the night before).
My boyfriend and I also took advantage of the spa treatments on offer - 1 hour massage for 16 Euros. Great value (book the night before).

The Villa has superb views over the river and hills, whilst still being only a short ride from Kandy. Breakfast on the terrace is therefore a real treat and very relaxing, whatever the weather is doing. The food is good here. The Curries for evening meal were the best we tasted during our 2 weeks in Sri Lanka. We are also having withdrawal symptoms from the round shortbread biscuits served with excellent filter coffee and teas during the day.
Volker and his team organised some great trips for us. They went at the pace we wanted and were very flexible. Highly recommended.
The service at the Villa is great. The whole team wants you to have a great time. But they were exceptional when my son had to go into hospital unexpectedly, organising transport, bringing flasks and blankets to the hospital and following up. We cannot thank them enough.
