The Hostellerie is situated on the quay-side in the tiny port of Le Fret on the northern coast of the Crozon peninsula. Two decisions greatly influenced our stay of 3 nights there; 1. We spent a little more (13 euros) to secure a sea-view room and this came with the added bonus of being recently refurbished. 2. we chose to have the separate menu de terroir (25 euros) rather than take the demi-pension offer. Anyone staying at the Hostellerie MUST eat in the hotel restaurant - the food, the service and the ambience were first-class, and you MUST reserve a table. The restaurant is popular throughout the locality and was crowded with non-hotel residents each evening. Likewise, the buffet-style breakfast was generous and varied - cold ham and cheese, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, cereals, and plenty of speciality breads to choose from. The welcome we recieved was friendly and helpful, indeed the owners helpfulness extended to arranging an appointment at a garage in Quimper to have a broken windscreen repaired. My wife and I greatly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and I would unreservedly recommend it.
