Food was very good, getting drinks was frustrating as you could only get 2 at a time , beer served in very small plastic cups of which 3 = 1 pint! Nevertheless it was very good value for money.The most disappointing thing was the area where despite it being 79 degrees every day, it felt more like 59 degrees because of high cold winds and massed cloud. However, a very cheap bus ride to cristianos or americas saw very high temperatures despite it being only 12 kms away. Nice hotel, shame about the weather in December. Because of this would not wish to return to the hotel or the area. Dont be fooled by the hotel blurb which says that Silencio has the best average sunshine in Tenerife. At certain times it is also the coldest part, unless, of course, i fell for a bad fortnight in December 2011.

We stayed at the Palia Don Pedro for a week Christmas 2011. This was a very French orientated hotel guest wise. A very tired looking hotel but the room was adequate and very clean. Staff were absolutely brilliant, very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Food was very good, always a very good choice and you did not need to go hungry. This hotel is quite a walk away from the town but if you are feeling energetic it is pleasant and there are plenty of shops and bars along the way. Local buses are cheap and very easy to locate.

We have just returned after spending New Year in Palia Don Pedro .We were here last year and enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked again.I'm glad we did,we had a good time again,although his year there were more French than English and so was the entertainment team ,so we didn't join in as much as last year as we didn't always understand what they said,our fault we should learn more languages!!The food is still as good and yes the drinks are still in small plastic cups but you can go back as often as you like.I don't know how Sylvie manages on her own at night and always with a smile.Renato on reception remembered us from last year and made us feel very welcome.Happy New Year to all the staff at Palia Don Pedro,keep up the good work.

reading some of the reviews made me think what have i done, we stayed 10th to 17th december, the rooms were spotless, the cleaners came everyday, and there was always something to eat. it was good value for money and all i can say is, those who moaned should pay for 4/5 star prices if thats what they want and as for the entertainment, a holiday is what you make it and we enjoyed it, if you want nightlife there is always magaluf.
