“Wonderful View, Gracious Hosts and Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

Chris and Shari-Lynn, along with all the staff, are incredibly gracious and and helpful hosts. The views overlooking moose meadow (yes, the moose appear regularly!) as well as the mountains across the meadow are awesome. The food was delicious - two course breakfast, buffet to pack you own picnic lunch , afternoon tea/savories, and excellent dinner. Truly a phenomenal place to stay.

“Moose Mania”

Since we live in Montana, we have travelled throught southern Alberta and BC extensively. In short, this place is a gem! We have stayed at all the Fairmont properties, but for experiencing faboulous wildlife, nature, great food, and excellent service, Mt Engadine is tops. The rooms are cozy with great views of the daily Moose parade. In short, Kananaskis is the place to really see wildlife and hike the mountain trails of SW Canada, and Mt. Engadine the perfect base.

“A perfect spot for the beginning of our honeymoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 March 2010

We absolutely loved Mt Engadine. We flew there the morning after our wedding and were so happy to arrive at a beautiful, quiet, relaxing spot. Our room was beautiful- we had small balcony, a fireplace and a sitting area and were able to enjoy the view as we were on the second floor. The area is beautiful- we enjoyed hiking every day we were there. (A car is a must here, if you want to hike trails that aren't directly next to the lodge.) The food was great- we loved the breakfast, the afternoon tea and the dinners. Our favorite though was the lunch! They had home made trail mix, yummy sandwich makings, snacks, fruit, and cookies. The sandwich bread was homemade and delicious and oh, the whole grain mustard. Anyway, we loved it- we saw several moose and a number of beautiful birds. The crisp air was wonderful (we live in Hawaii, so it was a change). We enjoyed it!

“Service-oriented staff, amazing setting, delicious food and more...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 December 2009

We stayed at the end of August for 4 nights and absolutely loved the area and the lodge. Our hosts Chris and Sheri-Lynn were extremely gracious and helpful with answering all our questions about the area and day hikes etc... They are professionals.
The lodge was very clean, comfortable and homey. All meals were included (full breakfast, pack lunch, afternoon tea service and dinner) and the food was fresh and delicious and healthy!
We were in the Moose Lodge room, which from our deck, had a view of the moose that would come every morning and night to slurp mud water from the area behind the lodge. We even saw a baby moose cross the stream behind the lodge as well as many moose and white tailed deer and beaver during our stay.
Sound proofing in the rooms was OK, but people were quiet for the most part.
The lodge has a full library of hiking books and books on the area available to borrow.
We found the communal meals to be fun and interesting as everyone would share their stories from the day's adventure and discuss plans for the next day- compare notes etc...
We found the clientele to be like-minded as far as their interest in the outdoors and adventure.
Very peaceful, relaxing comfortable place to return after a days adventure. It was the highlight of our trip to Alberta. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

When we were planning this trip, originally we were going to stay in Banff and after a day trip to Banff, all we can say is we are sooooooo glad that we sayed in Canmore at Mount Engadine. Very much an escape/getaway from the usual day to day drudge.

“Genuinely Special”

From the moment we arrived until we left we were treated superbly. All the four members of staff we met were extremely welcoming and friendly - making us feel really at home. The food was absolutely bountiful, nutritious and delicious; and our room was more than very comfortable. As for the location, it was simply stunning. We felt like we could have just sat on the large balcony-like deck and drunk in the view all day... We actually went for a walk from the lodge and that brought more incredible scenes. Staying here really was the highlight of a 3-week trip full of wonderful experiences in Vancouver Island, Tofino, Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff (and several other places inbetween). There was just something extra-magical about our time here. Thank you to Shari-Lynn, Chris, Carol, Colette and the mooses for making it so memorable.
