“Lovely short break”

We stayed here for the 2nd time after 2 nights in the Dower House, Knaresborough. We had an excellent huge courtyard room(no extra charge) and if we went back would request this room again (number 44), being a better room than the previous time we had been. This is a Warners hotel for adults only so includes entertainment. We got a good price, it being January, DBB £179 2 nights for 2 which included wine and fruit and snacks pack free for my birthday. We enjoyed our stay, but priced it for 3 nights in August which was £600, with discount, and am afraid I wouldn't pay that!

Room Tip: We loved room 44, me being a smoker, I could smoke outside the door, but even if you're not I wo...

“Excellent Motown Weekend!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

Nidd Hall what a wonderful 3 night weekend we have just spent with you. We arrived around 12 30 Friday lunch to be greeted with a welcoming cup of Yorkshire tea. makes a change from the usual cheap sparkling wine, checked in then on to our room a historic suite. named the Nidderdale Suite(room 30) 2 rooms with a spacious sleeping area with a ample built in wardrobe and plenty of drawers then the sitting room with a 3 seater sofa and tv,or just to sit and read a book or magazine or just contemplate the day ahead.
The restaurant( The Rawson) was one of the best we have dined in the seating area's were well set out and not the usual Canteen style that some Warner Hotels have. The food was of a very good standard, hot and well prepaired. On Saturday night we dined in The Terrace Restuarant the food was tasty and good portions.
The entertainment was of a very good standard although the visiting Cabaret acts should have been on stage much earlier than the alotted time of 10-30pm rather late, maybe the Quiz's could have been removed giving the Motown disco some extra slots. The Motown disco did not start until 11-30pm on Friday and Sunday night. As usual DJ Keith played a very good Mixture of soul, classic Motown and Northern Soul, with many guests requesting thier favourite songs.
The views from the hotel are magnificent with a second floor room you get a panoramic view of the surounding area, fabulous.
Thank you to all the staff at Nidd Hall, a wonderful place to spend a weekend,we will be returning!!!

“Great weekend at Nidd Hall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We went to Nidd Hall for a short break, after much research into a relaxing adults only weekend. We were not disappointed. Our room was a Signature room in the East wing, very well appointed, newly refurbished, warm and cosy. The hall itself is old, doesn't look like a 4 star judging by the corridors, but is very comfortable. The food we found was excellent, with Rawson restaurant really good, no need to go into the other restaurant for an additional charge, the ambiance and the standard of dishes was really excellent. We were in a small part with only 5 tables, which worked really well, and our waiter Michael was lovely. The entertainment also was great, we danced the whole weekend, and everyone was encouraged to this by the performers each evening, during their acts. The motown theme worked well, even though some of the songs were often repeated during the weekend, the artists were very professional and the atmosphere was great. The entertainment team were really good fun, with something for everyone. Mini plays during the day, lunch in the hotel pub with a beer, watching our footie team Celtic on the telly, (which the barman kindly put on when asked) with Rodders belting out American song book in the background was great. In the library the next day, surrounded by snow outside, we sat relaxing reading our kindles, listening to some lovely classical music, sipping some chilled wine was soooo good!. Staff really could not do enough to help, whether it was in the dining room,or the leisure centre, they were universally helpful. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Signature rooms really nice, and well worth the extra

“BRITTLIANT MOWTOWN WEEKEND”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Just got back from the Motown weekend, have got to say very high standard of entertainment all round. Staff very friendly and helpful must give a mention to Adam, Ben Scott and James some of the entertainment staff. Also must mention John and Chris from the Bar staff, we attended the wine tasting what a bargain for £5 per person they made it very informative and interesting. Rooms really spacious and modern ours was a courtyard room which could have been a bit warmer but we did have snow and bad frost temperatures below zero. Food was lovely and plenty of choice staff also very polite and helpfull in restaurant. Grounds etc lovely. Only four miles either way to Harrogate or Knaresborough both worth a visit. All in all a very good weekend. Its a pity that Warners dont target younger people ie the under sixties, the adverts portray a must older clientele.

“Cracking weekend away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Went to Nidd Hall for a last minute break. Booked it on Thursday and stayed for one night on Saturday. Met by courteous staff and given a map of the hotel and grounds.

Beautiful hotel in stunning grounds.

We ate in the Terrace Resturaunt and the food was delicious !!! Well worth the extra £17:50 pp.

The staff were second to none and really went out of their way to see we were enjoying ourselves ...

There was a Motown Show on Saturday night which was really good. Only negative was we couldn't get a seat in the concert hall until late. So sit down early to guarantee a good seat.

Overall a lovely stay in a nice hotel where I think all the staff there are the best in Yorkshire. even though they did originate from mainly Eastern European cities.

Shame British waiters cannot compete with the standards set by these youngsters.

Thanks Nidd Hall and keep up the great work.
