We went to Nidd Hall for a short break, after much research into a relaxing adults only weekend. We were not disappointed. Our room was a Signature room in the East wing, very well appointed, newly refurbished, warm and cosy. The hall itself is old, doesn't look like a 4 star judging by the corridors, but is very comfortable. The food we found was excellent, with Rawson restaurant really good, no need to go into the other restaurant for an additional charge, the ambiance and the standard of dishes was really excellent. We were in a small part with only 5 tables, which worked really well, and our waiter Michael was lovely. The entertainment also was great, we danced the whole weekend, and everyone was encouraged to this by the performers each evening, during their acts. The motown theme worked well, even though some of the songs were often repeated during the weekend, the artists were very professional and the atmosphere was great. The entertainment team were really good fun, with something for everyone. Mini plays during the day, lunch in the hotel pub with a beer, watching our footie team Celtic on the telly, (which the barman kindly put on when asked) with Rodders belting out American song book in the background was great. In the library the next day, surrounded by snow outside, we sat relaxing reading our kindles, listening to some lovely classical music, sipping some chilled wine was soooo good!. Staff really could not do enough to help, whether it was in the dining room,or the leisure centre, they were universally helpful. We will definitely be back!
