“Fantastic! Great views, great room, great hosts.”

We stayed in August with another couple and we loved it. Family run they are welcoming and very accommodation. They picked us up from the airport no problem. It is located at the top of a steep steep hill (maybe a 200m walk) but you can't have everything. If you hire a quad bike, which they will help organise, it makes it easier. They even dropped us in town one night to save on a taxi fare. Our rooms were at the back and had a great balcony and views, which we enjoyed with a few cold beverages. They have a couple of pet tortoises which are fun to watch.

Our rooms were spacious, comfortable beds, good air conditioning. The pool is smaller but very nice and we spent most of our time at the beach.

Agios Stefanos beach is walk of about 15 minutes and I think it's one of best beachs on the island. It actually has sand and not pebbles, it's a bit quieter, and the restaurant is the best!

Paradise beach is great fun - music, cool water, sun lounges and a afternoon party from 4 everyday. Preferred this beach over Super Paradise.

Definitely hire a quad bike - it's so much fun and the island is so small you can see almost all of it.

“Amazing Value in This Homely Hotel by the Sea”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

I stayed here in August with three of my friends and we had the most amazing time. The family who run the hotel are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and this gives the hotel a very warm and homely feel. They made 3 separate trips to pick up 4 people from the port. I hadn't even organised to be picked up from the port, but somehow the owner found me wondering, heavy bags in tow, towards the hotel. They also relayed informative advice on places to see, and places to eat. The rooms were very clean and spacious. We spent many hours by the magnificent pool, which takes in incredible views. Rhenia is in a great location, transport is close – the local bus will get you into town in 5 minutes. This place is great value for money, I will definitely be back.

“Fantastic Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

We stayed at the Rhenia for five nights in mid September. This was our first time in Greece and we could not have asked for a better introduction. The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were well appointed with beautiful views, the grounds lovely and the breakfasts generous. Thanks Alexandra and Kate for your hospitality.

“Great views, good family, but some improvements needed.”

My mother and I stayed here in july of 2011 for 3 nights. We had emailed the owner of this family-run hotel to schedule a pickup from our ferry upon arriving in Mykonos from Athens and had a confirmation from them for the time and day. However, we arrived to dozens of hotels and their drivers picking up their customers from the port and ours was no where to be seen. We figured they were just running a little late, so we waited at the port. An hour later, and we were still waiting.
My mother finally called them on her cell phone (we wanted to wait for this until the last minute due to the cost of doing this!!) and a less than polite response from reception when she explained we were waiting for them, asking who had told us this. When she said she had an email confirmation from the owner though, her tone changed.
They sent someone over right away, and within 5 minutes we were at the hotel (we could have walked there if we had known where we were going). We weren't really offered an apology, as the lady at the reception told us their driver was picking someone else up at the airport at the same time, but we had a confirmation from the owner that someone would be there to meet us. We would have taken a taxi to the hotel instead of waiting an hour at the port for them had we known, so we were a little displeased with this. They even had our phone number to call us to let us know, but no one did, so clearly there was a bit of an organization issue happening that day.
She sat down with us though and told us the places we should visit while we were there, which was appreciated, and the owner went above and beyond to help us with our rental car details.

We rented a bungalow room, which was basic, furnished with a small television and 2 twin beds, but it was clean and had a great porch with fantastic views of the ocean, as the hotel and the bungalow is situated high on a hill. The room has a mini fridge, so we went into town to buy a few groceries to put in the fridge. However, we found out after coming back that the fridge was not working, so we had to ask the owner to put it in her personal fridge, and she did.
The room as an air conditionning unit, but it rattled SO loudly, that we couldn't have it on at night, so again, something that needed to be changed in that room.
Maybe we were just having bad luck with our room, as we loved the property. It had a small, but great little pool, flowers everywhere and again, great view from wherever you were.
The location is far from the city centre, so we rented a car (very much worth it!!) and drove to all the secluded beaches the receptionnist had suggested to us, which was amazing. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and we enjoyed that. Just down the hill from the hotel, there are 2 restaurants, one of the left and one on the right. The one on the right isn't anything special, but the one on your left (coming down the hill, part of a hotel as well) is absolutely amazing...if you stay at rhenia, definitely eat there!

I would come back here for sure if issues mentionned above and disorganization at reception were dealt with, as we enjoyed the rest of our stay here. Without these improvements though, I would choose to stay somewhere else.

“Great hotel, wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

i loved this hotel. you can tell the staff loves it too. they were so helpful. helped us find all the spots to go. the hotel itself was clean. they gave us a room right next to our friend so that we would be close. the breakfast was great, and they were kind enough to leave it out a little longer than they scheduled so that you could get breakfast a little later. the bathroom was clean and the room was inviting. the temp was easily regulated in the room making it comfortable. there were a lot of animals, turtles, rabbits, dogs and they were all friendly. the veiw was great especially at night. distance to mykonos city was a little far, better with a car but you can do it by foot. at night this hotel is great for sleeping. unlike hotels in mykonos city which can be loud all night this hotel was quiet and easy to sleep. they have a laundry service which is affordable for those who are on vacation for a while.
