We ended up booking last minute when all of the prices were high, but needed a vacation. It ended up being a good choice. One week is more than enough time to relax and check out the area.
It's not all inclusive in the North American sense of all inclusive. Drinks are only included up until a certain hour and there are set meal times but it still offers good value. We needed a relaxing vacation and that was what this area offers, there's not a lot to do and not a lot going on, which might not be everyone's cup of tea.
The room
Was great, clean, large enough, beautiful view (we were in the hotel on the advice of other travelers and it does put you closer to everything. There are a lot of steps to everything, which could be a problem for some guests. It was good for us for working off some of the meals.
For food
They do have a lot of fresh fare that they offer and the soups surprisingly amazing (instead of an afterthought as is commong in most places). It does get tiring after awhile, but they did have a decent amount of choice. Desserts were not the specialty.
The drinks
Were generally awful. I became quite fond of gin fizz there as it was the one of the only drinks that didn't taste chemical or overly sweet.
White wine was ok
The beach
It changed daily as some day there was a lot of seaweed on the sand and in the water other days it was crystal clear sometimes there were lots of pebbles and other days more sand near the shore. It's kind of ridiculous that they charge for the sun chairs because they are from the hotel, but definitely worth it. The beach party that was put on by the hotel was fun.
Facilities
They have some nice excursions that we didn't participate but that other guests seemed to like. The evening entertainment was pretty cheesy and not always of good quality. One exception was the Greek music night, which had some beautiful songs and better quality. The spa has been run by the same person for the last two years who is friendly and professional.
The town and surrounding
There is not much to do, some pubs and a couple nice coctail bars.
A day trip to Corfu is definitely a good idea. Scuba diving in the area is not so interesting if you're used to Carribean diving or better. Not much to see and quite cold.

First of all we would like to thank you for your detailed review and feedback! We are really glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, even booking the very last moment. We certainly appreciate all of your good comments and we will pass them along to the hotel management however we would mainly like to emphasize on your remarks that can certainly be a point of improvement for us.
Rest assured that our F&B department has already been informed with regards to your comments over the drinks and our menu. We will do our best to see how and in which way we can improve and if there has been a lack of service in this issue. We are truly sorry that we fell short on your expectations on this matter.
Moreover, over your comments with regards to the steps, we certainly understand your point of view and this is the reason why we pay such a great attention on how we inform our guests over our facilities. Aquis Agios Gordios Beach is a truly magnificent resort; however it is not suitable people with walking difficulties or wheelchair users due to the morphology of the location. Of course all of our guests are welcome and each member of our staff is available anytime to provide assistance, however it is our obligation to provide our potential guests with all the information with regards to our facilities, so they can make the right choice and enjoy their vacation.
We surely understand your point of view with regards to the sunbeds on the beach. We certainly provide all inclusive services, however not all our facilities are free of charge and all these information are published on our website and all of our partners are well informed. We always take into consideration all of our guests comments and we always want to proceed with new ideas and improvements within our resorts. Thus, as we know that Agios Gordios Beach is one of the best beaches of the island we would like to provide even better and advanced services to our guests and for season 2012, the sunbeds on the beach will be provided free of charge.
We really hope that we will have the chance to welcome you once again in one of our resorts in Kos, Corfu or Crete and we once again would like to thank you for your extensive feedback. Rest assured that all of your comments have been reported to the management team and the hotel manager.
