After having read earlier reviews, I was in doubt, if I should book this hotel. I did not regret that I did it. The staff is friendly, efficient and observant. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The pool was clean and I was there alone. When I told the staff that we had to leave before breakfast, they offered to prepare a "baguette" for us in the evening. It turned out to be a real breakfast with coffee. That was really good, much better than I had expected. The evening meal was ok.
Nevertheless, I would not want to stay for a longer period. But that has nothing to do with the hotel itself but its location. It is located at a road with a lot of traffic. It is about 1 km to the sea. The way I took to the sea, there was no sidewalk and where I arrived, there was nothing like a beach. For me, it was only an evening walk. I did not search or ask for a beach or a better connection. Maybe there is one.
My impression was, that most of the other guests stayed longer. I did not discuss with them their experience.

I chose this hotel because it is a quick drive (ca 15 min.) to Heraklion airport, where I delivered the rental car. For that purpose the Erato hotel is perfect. It is much cheaper to stay at this hotel than in the town of Heraklion itself.
