Spend two weeks in Mandola Rosa during last September.
Location : great, directly at a beautiful long sandy beach, no crowds, shallow sea, absolutely stunning, a dream, one of the best beaches in Europe if you travel with kids. Do not go there if you want party night life. This is a place to get away from it all. Thus, most of the visitors were parents w/ small kids, older people, or couples who were happy with themselves. Positive : There are plenty of sunbeds around the pool and at the beach, no need to come early and reserve. Villa guests get a specific sort of beach cabana at their own, plus a small pool at their residence. Many guests from Germany and Russia.
Price and Room : We booked a villa, thrugh TUI, as it was significantly less than booking at the hotel directly. Still, with € 1,200 per villa and night (first week, still high season) pretty expensive, in the second week (after end of school holidays, lower season) price was "only" € 600 per night. But they took away our beach cabana in the second week - probably to justify the price difference. Be aware that when booking a "Villa Delos", you will book a villa which is faaaar away from the main building, much closer to the Thalasso building - which means that you will have to either walk 15 minutes one way each morning for your breakfast in the Mandola - or take your breakfast in the rather station-like restaurant of the Thalasso. The "Villa Iolas" villas are located around the Mandola main building, and have a wonderful sea view and pool, too. Interior of the villa was fine but not really luxurious.
Food : Breakfast in the Mandola Rosa was included and really great. We paid an additional amount for dinner - a big disappointment. In the first week (still high season) dinner price was € 70 pp, during the second week "only" € 51 pp. Both prices were way too high. For the price, you get either a buffet dinner in the Thalasso restaurant (food not great, but at least enough) or a 3-course menu in the Mandola restaurant "Cap Voyage" (portions so small that you left the table hungry). You could also eat a la carte; then they deducted € 15 from your amount if you had booked half board. Quite ridiculos! So easy to change € 70 for € 15 ! They also have an Asian restaurant, a la carte. Avoid! Food does not justify the price !
Service is mixed; sometimes excellent, sometimes improvable - note that a lot of their personnel are temporary workers from Eastern countries who do apparently not have a lot of experience with luxury hotels. Housekeeping was excellent.
Thus, a great place at a great location which still could do a lot better
