“This place forces you to relax!”

We spent 4 nights in this wonderfully hidden get-away. Jenny and Tom look after you briliantly - as we had no car we particuarly appreciated them picking us up and dropping us off at the train station / coach stop. The 'casas' are all well equipped and the entire site immaculate. All we did during our stay was laze by the idyllic pool and walk - several walks are easily accessed from the hamlet itself. Important tip for fellow walkers though: bring your own map! Jenny has a selection of routes ready-prepared, but if like us, you like exploring / knowing roughly where you are in relation to base, you'll need a good 'carta militaria'.

“An excellent place to stay”

We chose Casa Ferrobo as a base for touring in the Algarve. We were very satisfied with all aspects of this self catering complex. The swimming pool area is extremely well cared for with lush grass and beautiful trees and flowers. Our villa was spotlessly clean and very spacious, with an authentic Portuguese feel but thoughtfully with British television available.
It had all the necessary facilities for self catering if required.
Jenny provided a first class friendly service and good advice on the local area.
She was kind enough to return a pair of shoes to us by post that we left behind when we left, an indication of her commitment to good service.
The local walks are very good, giving an interesting insight into the local cork industry, but make sure it is not too hot before you set out!
Overall we would recommend this venue to anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday.

“a return to paradise”

This was our third visit in three years and we always said we would never return to somewhere because there are so many other places to visit in the world.
Casa Ferrobo is tucked out of the way just outside the non tourist town of Sao Bras de Alportel, it is ideal as a base to tour the Algarve by car. There are plenty of restaurants about in near by towns and villages but not within walking distance. If you want peace, quiet and relaxing with the option to get out and about this is just the place and great value for money. Jenny and Tom make this such a warm and welcoming place its just feels like we're reurning home.

“The real Algarve”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 April 2010

lovely swimming pool area and gardens. Owners friendly and seemed very helpful - however we are very independent/private (sour?!?) and they respected this too!!

Casa Lucy was small but my only complaint was that it smelt musty after Portugal's very wet winter.

Walking routes were great and easy to follow - but advise walking boots or shoes with a thick sole because some of the paths are very rocky and our feet got tender in trainers - and a stick to fend off the flipping dogs which are everywhere!!! Luckily most are all bark, but one was up for some biting!!

Don't be put off by the walk to the town, yes it is about a mile down the main road, but the road is wide with a wide off the edge and the traffic is very sparse and also quite considerate. Good choice of restaurants in town too.

“Fabulous relaxation”

We spent a week in the "Emma" apartment and had a fantastic time. Hosts Jenny and Tom cannot do enough for you - we opted out of hiring a car and Tom picked us up, dropped us off, carried us here and there upon request. The town has more than enough high quality restaurants to mean you'll come away slightly heftier than when you arrived.

The swimming pool at the Casa was also a treat, we got to know it pretty well in our seven days of doing pretty much not-a-lot! Overall, for a quiet, relaxing place, with unbeatable hospitality, this is the place.
