This hotel is in a perfect position, 2 minutes from a lovely beach (with a great cliff walk), its a 5 to 10 minute walk from all the restaurants and a mini market, the staff were very friendly and the balcony, even though it was looking over the car park, had full sun from 8am to about 4:30pm.
But unfortunately the walls are made of paper.
When we arrived the hotel was empty as it had just reopened again after winter. Another couple arrived at the same time as we did and we found that the reception was closed after 6pm and all check ins have to knock on apartment number 23. They gave us our room keys room 36 and 37. We thought it strange giving us rooms next to each other when the place was empty. We could hear everything! We could hear cupboards and doors opening, we could hear them getting in to bed, you could even hear them using the toilet!
In the morning we asked to change rooms which was no problem with the receptionist and we moved from room 36 to 35 were I proceeded to accidentally lock us out of our room, silly me, but my husband saved the day and we had a peaceful day and a wonderful nights sleep. The next day 2 new couples came to the hotel and were put in to rooms 36 and 34 on either side of us. The lady in the room joined to our bedroom wore high heels and clip cloped her way around the room for the next few days. I am not a light sleeper but just her walking round managed to wake me up 3 nights in a row at all hours, that just shows how ridiculously thin the walls are. I really don't understand why they would put all their guests on top of each other when they told us there were plenty of empty rooms!
Saying that we would consider going back again because we fell in love with Olhos de Agua and no other hotel offers such great prices that close to the beach. I'll just remember to take ear plugs.
By the way, don't use too much electricity at once or you'll trip the electrics off, as we did many times.
