“Best resort with villas”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

This is the 10th time we have stayed here..the villas and townhouses are like new and in excellent condition. Everything s supplied. The private pools are small but perfect for a dip and there are 2 large pools on site to use. The accommodation is truly first class and easily equal to 5 star. So convenient as only 20 mins frm Faro airport. Very quiet beach nearby with brilliant fish restaurant, Gigis. Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: All townhouses and villas are good

“Good experiance and easy place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

We had two issues the bed was very hard advised hotel recepition and and a top mattress was put on which dealt with the problem and with minimal fuss.
Breakfast was disorganised with the hot water for tea always reheating, no egg station and a charge for eggs other than fried, scrambled or boiled.
With a little thought and organisation this would be easy to fix we were a golf group and normally arrived around the same time so difficult for the staff.
The management need to look at this

Room Tip: Get a room away from the front road garden view only but quieter

“A Good Choice for a family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2011

This was our third trip to Portugal this year and having stayed at Martinhal in July my requirements were, villa with pool, short transfer time and on site restaurants. Monte Da Quinta fullfilled all these requirements and with a few tweaks it is somewhere I would return.

It's only a 20 minute transfer which is great with small children, this is the first time I've been to Quinta Da Lago and I loved the whole area, it is pristine, lots of restaurants and feels very safe. This is not the place to come if you are looking for a feel of local life, you really could be anywhere but as we only we only wanted somewhere to chill and relax with our children this suited us fine.

The approach is lovely and we received a warm welcome from reception. We were then taken to our Villa, we had a four bedroom villa with private pool. It was wonderfully spacious with very good sized bedrooms and all the facilites you could want in the kitchen. However it felt very sterile and didn't feel like a luxury villa. It is very overlooked and you don't have any privacy. Where it fell down for us was the pool, it was covered by overhanging trees and therefore didn't get any sun so it was never warm, this made it pretty unuseable with a 3 & 6 year old as they were shivering within a few minutes. This meant we used the other pools in the resort which were excellent but for us defeated the purpose of the holiday!

The main pool at the suites is lovely but quite small so you can't guarantee a seat, the pool attendant seemed to have his favourites who he would sort out and I saw money changing hands at one point which is not what you would expect! The other clubhouse pool was excellent and not many people used this so we stuck to this one.

We had dinner a couple of nights at Suites (buffett) which was excellent and very good value for money, there was also some good entertainment a few nights. Lunch was also very good at both pools.

The Kids clubs were excellent and our two children went for a couple of afternoons, they really enjoyed it.

We hired a car and ate out at a few different restaurants on the Da Quinta resort, you would be slightly isolated if you didn't have a car as nothing is really in walking distance, it would be great if there was resort bus service available so you could try out different places and have a drink!!

To sum up, it was a very easy relaxing holiday with small children in a lovely place, the villas are not what I would term as luxury but they are nice, I would return but would ensure our villa had a pool that was not in the shade and could be heated!

“Lovely place - shame about the beds!”

Arrived at a lovely reception area - lots of security which is great especially when travelling with young children. Villa was great (2 bedroom) - plunge pool perfect and although there were many TV channels, we couldn't view ITV after 6pm??!!! Unfortunately, in both bedrooms, there were two single beds. Unsure why not a double bed in one room and two singles in another - and they were uncomfortable. The bedding is not the best either - very old fashioned and one blanket had some stale food embedded on it. Apart from that - great for kids. Swimming pool great and a good kids club. Armando the Pool Attendant was very willing to help you with whatever you required; towels etc. Upon arrival, we had the basic food suppplies given free which was great after the long slog to get to Portugal (flights delays etc!!)....milk, cornflakes, sugar, british tea and bread. In a nutshell, apart from the (rock hard) beds, all was good and yes I would go again.

Room Tip: Ask for a double bed (that is if you want one!!)

“perfect villa holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

So we arrived at Faro airport jumped into our hire car and made our way to the huge and very impressive Quinta Do Lago resort.
Monte Da Quinta club is located just off roundabout 5. We checked in at the villa reception (not hotel reception as i assumed they would be the same thing) check in was trouble free all that was required was the passports (they take a photo copy) of all guests and a credit card for any tabs run up during your stay.

We arrived at villa 90 and were blown away by the quality and attention to detail of. The villa was 4 bed 2 double both on suite and 2 twin rooms along with a lounge with a sofa bed meaning the villa could sleep 10. All rooms have independent Air Conditioning unit that can cool a room down quickly so no need to leave them on. We slept in the double bedroom on the ground floor, onsuite bathroom was very well equipped with bath, shower, toilet, bidet, his and hers sinks, hair drier and a good selection of toiletries. The kitchen was well equipped with fridge freezer toaster microwave kettle and dishwasher. All utensils, silverware, glassware and crockery were also provided. Outside we found the BBQ built into the side of the villa, this provided most of our meals (found an Aldi in Almancel, meat from here was good quality and very very cheap was also able to pick up BBQ coal and matches etc.)

The garden and pool area was clean tidy with good quality sun a lounger, tables chairs etc.

We also used the clubhouse which was just across the road with a bigger pool, gym, cafe etc. and the spa in the main hotel building. All top notch facilities.

Will be back next year.
