“Again a perfect holiday”

I came back to this hotel in June, 2011. It was the same beautiful experience as before. The most important thing about this hotel is the location: on the beach. A sunny and quiet sand beach; as I heard is the most beautiful beach in Corfu. The other guests averrage age was 60+. So not too many kids arround... We loved this.
The food is very good, they tried to make everybody feel good. all day long you can eat and drink. I would recommand the wine, the rose wine especially and the cataif cake.
On the beach bar is an old bartender called Costas who dind'n payed us too much attention I guess because we were too young and we didn't gave him any tips :) But he was a nice man and when he has time he can tell you very interesting tales about Corfu. And he makes very good drinks afterall (my favorite was Gin Fizzzzzzzz). :)
The only bad thing I remember was that in arriving day they couldn't find our payment papers (we pay via internet by credit card), but as allways the only people stressed were us. After a few days they told us that everything is ok. :)
I must mention they don't have a discoteque or something like this, the animation night ends around 10,30 pm, but this was what we were looking for: a quiet holiday on the beach.
And the A/C doesn't work, but this was not a problem.
Afterall I would recommand this location to my family and friends and I hope I will get there again.

Room Tip: The room must not be under the bar or restaurant. The 10 euro extra payed for a sea view worth ever...

Dear loyal guest,

Thank you for your visit to the lti Louis Grand and for writing a detailed online review of your experience. We are happy that you enjoyed your sea view room, the drinks, the beautiful location and the quiet atmosphere. We apologize for stressing you out regarding the payment details but thankfully everything was sorted...it happens from time to time that guest names can be confused if they are similar and this is what happened in your case. Regarding the air conditioning, rest assured that our hotel is fully equipped with A/C units and that they are fully operational. Maybe there was a technical problem with your one so please inform us on the spot next time, so we can make your stay even more comfortable.

Thanks once again for your custom and we sincerely hope to welcome you again in the near future.

Best regards,

The Management

“Heaven”

This review is based on our stay in June 2011. The LTI Louis Grand does what it says on the can. If you go to this hotel then you are wanting a relaxed holiday. But you are close enough to explore if you want to. The hotel staff are fantastic and accommodating at all times when possible. My first impressions of the sea view room which we were allocated was not a full sea view, but it was a sea view which we got. I did ask to change and my request was granted. However the first room was fine and was in no way any better or worse than the full sea view. The rooms are all really nice and quite large, with new furniture and tea and coffee making facilities. The hotel food areas and all public areas were spotless clean,, and discreet cleaning going on all the time. The food was excellent at all times and plenty of good quality choice. One of the best all inclusive hotels in Greece that i have been to, and having been to Mexico and being spoilt ,, i would not say something was good if it wernt, The outside areas were large and lots of room to get sun lounges,, and the beach was amazing, the beach bar was great as was the eating area above the beach area. The staff are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble at any time. The wasps !!!!! well lets say yes there are some,,, of course there is,,,, and in every other holiday resort i have been to,, so it is not just in LOUIS GRAND,,, not a problem for me ,,, just made sure our table was free from sticky food and placed a topper over any drinks we had. I do feel however that some people want to be waited on hand and foot and will complain at the slightest thing,, i want a good clean hotel,, good food and to relax and enjoy my holiday,, and this is what i got to a very good standard at all times. The evening entertainment ,,,,, to be honest it was average but one night there was a good female singer on that everyone enjoyed,, so it would be nice to have had a little more of that,,However it did not in anyway ruin our holiday, we just enjoyed what there was on offer even tho it wasnt to our taste some of the time. I picked this hotel to stay at because of my wants at the time and was more than happy with every aspect of it. So much so that we are taking another couple along with us in May to enjoy the holiday that we had last June,. I am a person that wont go back to the same place twice in a row,,, but the Louis Grand ticks all the right boxes for my needs and wants for the holiday i require right now.

Dear guest,

Thank you for visiting the lti Louis Grand and for sharing your views about it with the online community. We were very happy to read that you enjoyed so many aspects of the hotel, like the location, the food, the drinks, the singer, the staff friendliness, the rooms etc. Thank you also for your understanding and appreciation of our efforts regarding the wasps.

It is an honour for us to be compared to the all inclusive resorts in Mexico, which are well known for their services...moreover it will be an honour to welcome you back in 2012, despite the fact that by your admittance, you rarely visit a place twice.

We look forward to having you and your friends with us and until then, wish you all the best.

Regards,

The Management

“rude personal,bad attitude”

I am a travel agent and I've booked 2 family rooms at Lti Grand H. We pay more than 3200 euros for them, accommodation with ALL.If I will buy it from a tour-operator from my country as package, will be 4000 euro with airplane ticket .
I made the reservation thru a sistem who don't allowed me to write all names, just 1 name by room. When my clients get at the hotel they was keept in the reception more than 3 hours because the manager of the hotel decide to don't check-in them. Was 2 adults and 2 kids under 6 years in each room(family room). She keep them in reception without to say something to them.At the phone when I called her she said that she don’t wan’t to check-in them because in her confirmation apear only 1 name, and not all names(and is not legal if police come).I never heard this before!!!I ask her nicely to she be sorry for the kids and to she check in them.....she didn't care.My clients was very nervouse and very dissapoint of this situation, and more they was dissapoint of how they was treat. I pay again for the kids because the manager of the hotel did not care and did not know who is the sistem in wich I made the reservation.Because wasn't write all names in confirmation she asked me for 450 euros by room. Our clients stay at this hotel starting with 04.07.2011-7 nights and hotel send us the invoice on 26.10.2011 after many phones and e-mails.
So agents....take care when you decide to make reservation to lti.Hotel ,them policies are not clare and manager of the hotel is rude and not cooperative.

Dear travel agent,

We hope that our reply shall be transmitted to the guests referred to in your comment on Trip Advisor.

We would first of all like to thank you, as well as your clients, for choosing the lti Louis Grand for their holiday. It is a shame that not everything went as planned or as expected during this holiday, but as with every story, there are always two versions. Our version reads as follows.

We had a reservation for two family rooms with two adults in each, made by your Travel Agency in Romania, through Expedia. Your clients arrived with children, nowhere mentioned on the reservation. We needed to charge extra for the children as stated by the contract with Expedia but nevertheless you, the Travel Agent, did not want to pay. After much discussion you promised to send a credit card to cover the difference but its authorization delayed to pass through. As we explained to you, this was the reason for the check-in delay. We don't believe any hotel in the world would accept to accommodate guests if their Travel Agents' credit card did not receive authorization for the payment.

You claimed that there was no field for children on the reservation mask of Expedia, a claim which Expedia totally denied when we asked them. Moreover, as you admitted at the time, you assumed that since family rooms are for 4 people there is no need to mention the names of the children. What you need to understand however, is that based on the contract with Expedia, the names on the reservation HAVE to match the names of the people being checked in. Otherwise, our hotel would have problems with the Greek Tax Authority, to which the contract was submitted. If they came to spot check the hotel and found 2 guests being accommodated with no records of their names, the authorities would assume that we have accepted under-the-table payments from you in order to accommodate them without paying tax. Our company has never done something like this and we refuse to do business this way. It is therefore your obligation as a Travel Agent, to familiarize yourselves with a hotel's policies BEFORE you send your customers to it.

Regarding the invoice, we admit that it had been misplaced by us, hence the delay in sending it to you. We do therefore apologize for this delay. We are sincerely very sorry that your clients had to go through all this inconvenience, but we strongly feel that everything would have been dealt with much better had you been more professional and prompt with your approach. Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

Regards,

The Quality and Branding Manager

“Good hotel, great location, but some disappointing aspects”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

My wife and I spent an enjoyable week at the Louis Grand at the end of September. The hotel has a great location, right on the edge of the lovely sandy Glyfada beach. This is the main selling point of the hotel and for that reason we would recommend this hotel to others inspite of the negatives mentioned below.

The free daily bus service gave the option to visit Corfu Town or to hop off at the top of the steep hill from the hotel and enjoy the shortish (2-3km) walk to Pelekas and its own excellent beach for those who want to explore beyond the hotel and beach. As mentioned in other reviews, nowhere to walk at night due to beac/cliff side location.

The hotel, which has recently been refurbished, looks nice and is well maintained, both internally and the gardens. We also found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

In the main the food (all meals are buffet) was good, with a very wide selection of tasty offerings which made it all too easy to eat too much! In mid afternoon and late evening snacks, including some baklava that I couldn't get enough of, were offered too. The lunch near the beach was also good, but the wasps that swarm all over the food are unfortunately a real issue (I appreciate there's probably not a lot that can be done about them) and tended to mean lunch was a case of trying to eat as quickly as possible rather than enjoying a relaxing lunch out of the sun.

As per above, the hotel makes the grade in most aspects, but our main complaints given that this is not a cheap hotel were around the drink options on AI and the lack of an a la carte dining option (even at a reasonable supplement to the AI price as buffet every night is not ideal for us as we like to really enjoy our evening meals on holiday) which would make us personally not return to the hotel.
The wine in particular (this came in carafes filled from 20 litre containers behind the bar) and also the beer on offer were very poor and there was no alternative wine/beer choices on the AI deal. Also, cocktails were generally thrown together from poor ingredients and not great. Furthermore, there was no fruit juice, rather very sweet and sickly cencentrated diluting juice, very poor. All of the coffee (at breakfast and all bars) came from help yourself coffee machines, which was very ordinary (not much better than instant coffee). The quality of the beverages clearly fell well short of a 4 star hotel and due to the lack of decent and/or healthy alternatives we were often left to drink only water, great for a holiday....
We also think there should be an a la carte dining option as the terrace and courtyard areas (which are the best areas to eat but are very popular so you need to get down very early to get a seat) seem ideal for this. The same could be said for the Asian restaurant (music in there is way too loud), which I don't think works in a Greek hotel where surely there should be a greater emphasis on Greek food as it seemed really hard to find any Greek meals in the evening except for the 'Greek corner' which usually had only one option. As with all buffets, oftentimes food is not that hot and occasionally inconsistent in qualtiy (things like pasta bakes and bruschetta are like concrete when left out too long).
I think quality not quantity applies particularly regarding the drinks and due to these issues this review is a 3.5 rather than a 4 out of 5.

Notwithstanding the above complaints, we were sufficiently pleased with the other aspects of the hotel and how it appeared to be run that we would visit another LTI hotel provided there was an al a carte dining option.

Dear guest,

We thank you for staying at the lti Louis Grand and for taking the time to share a detailed review about your experience with us.

First, we were very pleased to see that your overall stay in our hotel was very much enjoyable and that you were satisfied with the location of our hotel, the general cleanliness, the quality of the food and the genuine friendliness of our professional staff members.

Secondly, rest assured that the issue regarding the wasps has already been addressed to our management and we will do our best to find a solution as for next year, even though the whole island faces this problem because of the grape season at this time of the year.

We thank you for helping us improve our services and we will take your other comments regarding the drink offer into consideration whenever needed. You make some valid points, also regarding the a la carte option with a supplement, and they are worth considering.

We thank you for recommending our hotel and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future.

Best regards

We have been using this hotel for a few years in September, we meet the same people from various parts of the world who have now become very good friends. The hotel is in a quite beach front location.
which is what we require from a holiday ,The hotel has upgraded over a few years & is now a good standard,The hotel staff are excellent,in the reception & restaurant. the food is a very good standard, with enough options to suit everyone .The rooms are light & quite large for a holiday hotel,
The lunchtime beech restaurant is open air & plenty of room for everyone,The beach bar must take pride of place in the evenings,With the sunsetting & excellent bar staff serving a choice of cocktails & ouzo, The only down side is the entertainment for adults,But is excelent for children.Which normal means if they are happy the parents can relax

Room Tip: the sea view rooms are very good but to hot to open windows in the summer
