We have spent some days there and we were very disappointed. The room was very dirty, we found also a beatle in our bed. On the second day we heard a guest complaining with the police because someone entered in his room (from the balcony) and stole him some stuff. The people at the reception speak German and no Spanish at all!!!! That's amazing. Don't talk about breakfast................

We have been to El Med previously as my partner is a keen windsurfer, however we have stayed in a mates apartment. I miss having a swimming pool so we opted for Playa Sur. Efficient, clean and well run, the hotel is fantastically located. Well worth paying extra for a sea view room as the views are great. Room is basic but adequate and clean - lousy cheap loo paper tho! and no air con so if the wind doesn't blow, the room is stifling. We were B&B and value for money was excellent. Breakfast is good although not enough variety of fresh fruit for my liking. We ate out every night in town - cheap and cheerful with excellent fish. We were the only English there (fab!!), mostly German wind surfers which meant I had the pool to myself most days. Only a small pool area though, wouldnt like to be there when it's busy and the sunbeds are not great.
Overall, great location and good value for money, just don't expect luxury!
