El tucano. The el tucano is an older property with natural hot springs. It is frequented by a lot of ticos very few foreigners. The property has stunning "bones" it could be a stunning property with it's mediteranian architecture and old growth forest but it is q good economy property for those that can't afford the expensize springs or tabacon.
Room came with a free breakfast pretty minimal but fruit coffee toast and scrabbled eggs. Dinner was not good.
Room was poorly lit had hard beds with cheap sheets and old bedspreads but was clean. TV with English channels. Bathroom serviceable.
The pools are not in perfect repair with a lot of broken tiles and old cheap plStic lounge chairs in disrepair and not nearly enough of them. The pools themselves R great and they also have N excellent spa with professional therapists. $75 per hour.
So if they redid the bathrooms, got new lighting and bedclothes in the rooms and upgraded the TVs they could get $350 a night. If you can live with an older hotel with it's warts you can stay at a hot springs hotel for $100 or less per night.
