What makes Omiros unique is the hospitality of Yannis and his mother. We arrived six hours ahead of schedule at the airport at 5:30 a.m., and when we called the hotel Yannis hopped out of bed and drove over looking genuinely happy that we had made it. When our friends lost their bags he was quick to communicate with the airport and get them over as quickly as possible– and when we left he even helped drive friends at a different hotel to our ferry. You would be hard pressed to find a family that is more hospitable or dedicated to ensuring that their guests have a good experience.
The hotel itself is a 10 minute uphill from the main town and has a gorgeous view of the ocean. There is a lovely deck from which to watch the sunset and I loved the fresh greek yogurt with honey. Rooms are simple with all you need. Omiros is a great place if you are looking for a more laid-back experience of Greek hospitality.
