“Don't be fooled!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 September 2007

Booked through the bookings website and all looked good and dont get me wrong, the room was fine. Now comes the bad stuff. The website said there was a gym and wifi which are mandatory options for myself. There was neither. they ignored our request for a pick up from the port and never offered a cab fair or a lift back down when it was time to leave so i dont know what that guy was talking about. It was supposed to be an ocean view but low and behold, in front of our ocean view were big palm trees, on the actual property that blocked the entire view off!! These belonged to the property so there was no excuse.

It gets even better!!

They actually charged us for the room one week prior to arrival without warning so as to stop our ability to cancel when we saw what was missing from the hotel.

Then comes the bad part.

We were stranded on the island due to the bad weather so had to extend our stay. We originally paid 97 euros per night which was unfair due to the non existant view, no gym and no wifi. The Pakistani guy (I am not racist) tried to offer us the same room but for 117 euros a night instead of the original 97 euros. In other words he tried to take advantage of us. When i went and spoke to my wife she agreed to tell them where to go. When we turned the offer down he then offered us a room without the seaview (which never even existed in the first place) for 75 euros. After he had tried to take advantage of our situation I was never going to stay anyway but i said I'd consider it. I then went and booked at the Pension Matina which was just as close to Mykonos Town but was only 46 euro a night!! The rooms are just as nice and the TV reception better. Poolside was much nicer. I then went back to inform them that I'd be moving into another hotel. The guy had the audacity in his desperation to offer us the same room for 46 euro!! The funny thing is that if he has just offered us the same room for the same price (97 euro) in the first place we would have stayed if anything just for the convenience factor. the whole thing was pretty insulting and to tell you the truth I was glad to see the back of the place and have never experienced such dodgy customer service in Greece before.

Stay at your own peril!!

“Nice Place, Longer Walk Than Expected”

The Aegean Hotel staff is wonderful. They want to make sure you fully enjoy your stay with them. The pool is beautiful and the view of the ocean is perfect. However, the hotel itself is not a 5 star (not that they claim to be). The accomodations were adequate. The beds were not very comfortable, and the walk to Mykonos Town was kind of a hike. I am satisfied with my experience there, but if I were to go back, I'd prefer to stay a bit closer to Mykonos Town, perhaps Hotel Leto. If you are more interested in being away from the action, however, this hotel would be perfect for you.

“Terrific Hotel Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 October 2006

Everything about this hotel was near-perfect. It is located just outside the main town -- an easy 15 minute walk. You're away from the crowds and the noise and the constant congestion of the main town. Great breakfast in the morning, great pool bar service all afternoon, great pool with plenty of lounge chairs, extraordinarily friendly and helpful staff. We had a room with a small patio and an amazing view of the ocean (the room was plenty large enough, although if there's any hint of a complaint here, it would be that the bathroom was rather small).

“Aegean was amazing!”

amazing room, (definitely splurge for a sea view room -- incredible sunsets), excellent pool, good breakfast, and most of all, the BEST service. They let us check in at 6 am and check out at 5 pm without extra charge. The staff is very friendly and very helpful.

OH, and get this: they pay for your cab to and from the pier/or airport.

There are no drawbacks or catches. We had an amazing time at the Aegean and you will too.

“Our reference of Greece”

Over the past 10 years, I've visited Mykonos 5 times. The great reception and friendly hospitality of the Aegean Hotel's staff has been the key of success of every vacation in Mykonos. I just couldn't take the risk of choosing another hotel and not having an as good service ! The rooms are sober but very clean and pleasant, the pool has a great view on the aegean sea and the passing cruise ships and the staff is great ! You've guessed it, my next hotel in Mykonos will be.... the Aegean Hotel !
