Our flight to Kefalonia was cancelled (well we DID take-off, fly over Kefalonia and return to Athens) due to high winds and hence the inability of the plane to land. Olympic Air then offered us accomodation at this hotel until a further attempt was made the following day to land. The hotel is a fair way from the airport, built overlooking the sea. It is an "elderly" building, with a few lovely and a few quirky features, the stained glass roof in reception is lovely, the bungalows built below the hotel are very 60's, and the two sparrows that live between the bar area and the air conditioning unit in the ceiling of the foyer are amusing. The food is satisfactory, the staff were helpful, the "entertainment" on the Saturday night was great (Greek keyboard player and a singer), but I think they were there for the pleasure of the local Greek families who were in abundance, and thoroughly enjoying a night out, as did we. The room was warm and comfy, albeit a bit dated, no complaints at all. We were very grateful that OA managed to find us somewhere to stay, provided us with lunch, dinner and breakfast, and took us back to the airport the following day. We would not choose to stay here, but in general we have no real gripes about it.
