“One night "stop-over".”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

Our flight to Kefalonia was cancelled (well we DID take-off, fly over Kefalonia and return to Athens) due to high winds and hence the inability of the plane to land. Olympic Air then offered us accomodation at this hotel until a further attempt was made the following day to land. The hotel is a fair way from the airport, built overlooking the sea. It is an "elderly" building, with a few lovely and a few quirky features, the stained glass roof in reception is lovely, the bungalows built below the hotel are very 60's, and the two sparrows that live between the bar area and the air conditioning unit in the ceiling of the foyer are amusing. The food is satisfactory, the staff were helpful, the "entertainment" on the Saturday night was great (Greek keyboard player and a singer), but I think they were there for the pleasure of the local Greek families who were in abundance, and thoroughly enjoying a night out, as did we. The room was warm and comfy, albeit a bit dated, no complaints at all. We were very grateful that OA managed to find us somewhere to stay, provided us with lunch, dinner and breakfast, and took us back to the airport the following day. We would not choose to stay here, but in general we have no real gripes about it.

“If you are considering this property- read the reviews”

First of all, I did not choose to stay at this hotel but was put there after a cancelled flight from Athens. It is a bit far and I would not choose this hotel in relation to it's location (unless you prefer a hotel in the middle of nowhere and want R&R).
If you are low maintenance and have no personal needs/requests from the staff, I am sure you will be content with the service. My experience was fine but I was there only 1 night and as it was the low season, they did upgrade us to a larger suite.
The hotel is old and has potential if someone chose to renovate it. The best part of the rooms is the balcony. For European travellers or people on a budget, it is clean and comfortable.
I went in December and it was very quiet, there was no spa and not much going on in the area- it is possible that there may be more life in the Summer but it is far from everything.
This is a budget hotel that is located far from airport and center.

Room Tip: Rooms have 2 singles pushed together, but corner suites have a big bed and bigger balconies.

“huge resort, old fashioned style, service rough to say the least”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

having caught a frequent strike at athens airport, with internal flight cancelled me and a group of sixteen collegues on our route to a workshop are transferred to this huge resort, sort of overlook hotel by the sea. Clearly staff doesn't consider us regular customers, unpleasantness, sharp answers, tight nerves, still we are a bunch of unhappy people that have just lost a plane and have to stay overnight (actually waking up at 3.30) to catch the next one. some care could be welcome...
rooms are old fashioned, not pristine, tv is 20 years old, internet is 8 (repeat eight) euros for an absurd forfait of two hours (minimum) and buffet is horrible and not even rich in alternatives. at check in we ask for some minimum breakfast in the morning/actually deep night, no way. I saw a woman protest for there's no commuting available to the airport for her 6.30 flight, despite having been assured of, only chance a 50 some euro taxi ride. Hope never to cross again. Greek crisis doesn't excuse for rudeness and bad manners. Thanks to Olympic airlines...

“Stopover hotel..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2011

Aiport shuttle - please note ! It costs EUR 30 per direction
You should always double check the availability of the shuttle by calling directly the hotel upon arrival. Friendly and proffessional staff by the reception desk.
Note: Salt water in the pool.
Pretty close to the Airport

“Nice resort for the family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2011

The hotel in general is well appointed and maintained. I found the bungalows a bit outdated and in need of a refresh for what you pay, but there was nothing lacking. We spent all day by the pool ( but who has a 3m deep pool and won't allow you to dive in!) and found it very relaxing. Good kids playground, beach and water activities. They run organized games near the pool, Staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English. A bit isolated if you want to go out, but we didn't so it was good. Very accessible to the airport approx €27. it's on a steep hill, but there's a shuttle service up and down.
