We had a wonderful stay, 8 nights, at the Ypsylon guest house. The facilities include a small pool and a restaurant, there is also a diving school and an Ayurveda center (a bit more on this later).
Our room was large, with a small balcony facing the sea. It was clean, the sparse furnishings are modern and new, and the bed comes with a mosquito net. The hotel is right on the beach, which is very nice, there are showers and shaded spots, while the small pool is in the interior court.
The restaurant, and its wonderful staff, serves fresh seafood, they get their catch daily, and also offers typical German fare. Breakfast is a choice of fruit plate or juice, eggs, butter and jam, tea or coffee. Overall the food was above-average and the staff courteous and friendly.
Our only negative surprise was with the Ayurveda center/spa attached to the hotel, which is staffed by shameless personnel of dubious character. I booked a 1-day package, which gives a choice of 5 treatments for a total price of 45 euros. The treatments, which included different type of massages and an infusion, were cut short, for instance the 50-minutes full body massage lasted only 35 minutes, the 20-minutes only 10. Sadly, I didn't terribly mind the significantly shortened experience, as the woman that gave the massages had an incessant hacking cough and was obviously quite sick. The creepy fellow that manages the center was unapologetic and after agreeing to settle the bill at the of the day, he went on harassing us multiple times, even while eating, to remind that we still haven't paid for the treatments...
