“Nice winter week away!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

We booked this holidays as a nice winter week away before xmas. 6 adults and 2 kids (5yr olds). I think at this time of year kids club and entertainment was geared for Scandinavian etc tourist which was fine as we were in good company anyway. The night shows were good and the kids really enjoyed although it did finish kind of early again it was fine. Its quite a big hotel and the rooms were well serviced and extremely clean. Only complaint was our bed was 2 singles and they kept coming apart leaving one of us lying on the floor at some point in the night! lol However my friend was in the room next to us and she was quite heavily pregnant so she just explained the situation to the maids and they dealt with the problem quite easily. Sun loungers were a bit of a problem, I think some people must have been getting up around 4am to get their towels on which was a bit annoying. Food was quite good with some weird but interesting dishes! I guess on All inclusive the food does get a bit samish but for me there was a good selection in the main restaurant and during the day the food was served in the bar area again with plenty of selection and really good for the kids i.e burgers, chips, DIY sandwiches. I would visit here again, quite enjoyable. Location is a bit out of the way but again our plan was chilling so was not a problem. Pools were a bit cold but once your in it was fine. Beach is like volcanic so dont expect nice light sandy beach.

Room Tip: All rooms that we seen were nice.

“Amazing family holiday :-)”

My husband and I took our 3children aged 7,3,1 here in June 2010,and I would recommend this resort to anyone...firstly children's entertainment was great, the Thomson reps just couldn't do enough, the eldest had swimming lessons at a resonable price, which she loved and Sam the instructor gave her a new found confidence that as stayed with her. The rooms were a good size for a family of five although the only minor gripe I had,was that our room was 3 floors up,no ground floor available at all,and above the disco area, and on the occasion you wanted kids to have a decent night kip, wasnt an easy task!!! Food was ok,fresh meat cooked in front of you was a good, but nothing was amazing..overall grounds are kept very well, the usual fight for sun loungers still goes on lol,and unless your prepared to get up at 6.30am you'll have to grab them as and when...would definately go back, fantastic family hotel.

“Never again in january/februari with smal children”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

First of all it is very windy and cold in Bahia Feliz in January. We were here on holiday with our 3 year old for a week.

1. The pool water was so cold that nobody in our family wanted to take a swim.

2. We arrived at the hotel around 11 am. they told us that family's with small children will get the rooms very quickly, we had to wait 1,5 hour before we got our room,

3. In the winter season this is a TUI hotel, witch means the hotel is crowded with people from Scandinavia. The TUI has program all day long and all night long. The noise was so loud in the evening (the evening program ended around 10 pm) that the windows were shaking. (Our child usually goes to bed around 9 am so this was a very big problem).

4. There were cleaning the rooms every dag (in the weekend they just emptied the trash bin), but the floor was always still dirty, found dark hair in the bathtub.

5. WIFI costs 50€/week

6. We had an electric socket that was hanging out of the wall (not so child friendly)

The hole experience was very "manjana", the staff wasn't that active and every feedback you gave had the response "okay we will fix it" but nothing happened.

Room Tip: If you don't like noise choose a room that isn't against the pool area.

“A most enjoyable break..”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We went to this hotel on 14 January 2011 on an all inclusive through Thomsons and when our flight landed at 2030 we thought that as our hotel was 15 mins drive from the airport we would be dropped off first. Wrong. About 90 minutes later we arrived at the hotel, last passengers in the coach.
The check in was swift and professional but unfortunately we were too late to get food so had to go to the nearby store for rolls and meat. Something to bear in mind if you have children and the flight arrivals are late evening. Tea, coffee and alochol is available till midnight and the kettle in the room was put to good use.
Our room was 713 and had fantastic views of the pools, ocean and grounds. The room itslef was spotless and the cleaning staff changed towels daily and bedding every couple of days and ensured the bathroom was well stocked with soap etc.
The balcony was ideal for our purposes and there were a couple of days when it was windy and we sat in the sheltered balcony and enjoyed the sunshine. The split level room was delightful.
The hotel and grounds were immaculate and all the staff had a friendly attitude and were willing to assist without hesitation.
The restaurants;
In the morning, the place if full of families but there is a room at the end of the restaurant for adults only the peace and quiet of this room was well appreciated.
The quality of food was exceptional and I would question any comments made to the effect that there was a restricted variety of food available.
The only noticeable down side of this was the fact that there were so many children in the hotel that there was an absence of hand sanitizers throughout the dining areas
There were plenty of loungers available and we never had any problem finding them.
It was obvious that the hotel mainly caters for the Nordic nations as virtually all the entertainment was in Swedish/Finnish and this was well supported by the Nordic families.
Despite this, we just got on with it and enjoyed ourselves nevertheless. This was ,as far I can recall, not mentioned at any level in the booking stage and may have left a poor impression on some of the British tourists.
This was highlighted when travelling in the lift, I spoke to an elderly English couple who voiced their opinion that it was a bit much that there were 'approx 900 of them [Nordics] and only about 90 of us. I asked her who 'us' exactly were to which she replied 'Why us English of course' I thought that her comment to me, particularly as I am Scottish , described her naivity and I gave her my thoughts on her statement. She never spoke to me again. Shame.
The hotel is ideal for young families and I am sure that despite the fact that there is a large Nordic attendance, the young children of most nationalities all manage to play together despite the language difficulties.
If your holiday is one whereby you prefer to hold onto the British way of life , then you may be slightly disappointed by the various cultural differences, but if on the other hand you are looking for a break and do not have any hang ups regarding being in the minority, given the quality, cleanliness and all round package, then this may be just what you are looking for.

One last small comment, At the airport, don't bother waiting in the queue at Burger King for Tea as it is probably the only Burger King in the world that does not sell it.

Room Tip: Rooms on each floor from 12 to 17 have great views over the pools, beach and ocean
