Favourite hotel of all the the ones we stayed in in Sri Lanka. It doesn't have all the trimmings of the beach front hotels but is simple and honest. The staff were fantastic (as they were n most Sri Lankan hotels), food was good, and the rooms comfortable. Having cocktails while watching the sun set over lake Giritale was fantastic. Any hotel that has a sign next to the pool that reads "Please do not feed the monkeys. They steal our tiles" gets my recommendation.

This hotel was the nicest we stayed at in Sri Lanka, amazing views from the deck, very good service and clean rooms with AC and hot water, though a bit musty. I would stay there again and it is the best hotel in town. A good base to see the cities of the cultural triangle. Polonaruwa, Sigiriya, Dambulla caves, and Minneriya Ntl. Park all worth a visit.
