“Thai House Beach Resort”

I dont think I could say anything negative about this resort, from being picked up at the airport to being taken to Chaweng to another hotel on our last day it was all perfect.
We stayed in a Villa which was just gorgeous and only about a dozen steps to the pool and then beach. I think this is the only hotel/resort we have stayed in around the world where the rooms actually look exactly like the photos on the website.
The resort is spotlessly clean everywhere.
Food was lovely too, breakfast was a good choice, eggs made to order which were really nice.
The staff are so friendly and cannot do enough to help.
The only negative thing was the ignorant guests who go down to the pool and/or beach very early every morning and leave their towels on the vbeach beds to claim them, then just dissapear for hours or most of the day. I find this down right rude, the hotel does have a policy of if towels are left on the beds unattended for an hour they will be removed, but no one polices that so it happens all the time, Its one of my pet hates and so rude to other guests staying at the hotel.
I'm not sure what the other types of rooms were like but, Im sure they would be perfect too as this resort is so well maintained and looked after.
All in all, we loved this resort and would definatly go back for another stay

It is very hard to find anything negative about this place. The people were so friendly all the time and reception was very helpful.

it was amazing having the pool and banana lounges right on the beach, it's very easy to spend the whole day there without leaving.

It was very clean.

beds and pillows were a bit stiff, but we found this in our other resorts too.

There are lots of great shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Overall it was very great value for money and we would definately go back

“best overall resort”

We stayed for 2 weeks during Jan 2012. As everyone says, If you can afford to, worth dishing out a few extra $$ for the villa.

Our Villa room looked new and modern. Huge bathroom, comfy bed and airconditioner worked a treat after hot days out. Villa room was better than alot of 5star hotels that we've been to. Staff are excellent with cleaning and maintaining rooms, pool and gardens. All staff are lovely to talk to and always helpful.

Internet free (and fast) at front reception. DVD's and books on loan also available at reception.

Breakfast buffet changes daily and includes egg station to cook eggs anyway you like.
Restaurant is relatively priced. They have both thai and western meals (try entree platter, bit of everything).

We got selection of fresh seafood cooked on bbq on some evenings (try bbq snapper, melts in mouth). Thai style dining tables with lanterns were set up on the beach during the evening, very romantic setting.

Loved happy hour between 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Buy one get one free drink (all drinks), incl. beer, long list of cocktails (mango dacquari yum!) smoothies and non alcoholic mocktails.

Massages at resort start from 250 baht an hour (but get oil thai massage, blissful! for 350 baht) Tried to fit in a massage everyday as the ladies do a very professional job at very cheap prices.

This resort is located at heart of lamai shopping. If you can be bothered leaving the pool or beach, corner store next door if you get the munchies, (water, beer, choc etc)
laundry place across the road. 35 baht a kilo. you drop off your clothes and collect it the next day.

Also right across the road, lamai tourist centre. Lovely couple who run it. Rent scooter for 200 baht a day (but you have to leave passport with them) The guy gives you handy hints, a map and organises tours for you at discount prices.

Heaps of restaurants and stores all along the street so you don't get too bored, but not too busy and overwhelming like Chaweng. Less than 10 min walk to Tesco which is kinda like a small shopping centre.

While we were there, we also checked other resorts in Lamai. Thai House Beach resort is definitely the best place to stay at very reasonable prices and best location. We're already planning to go again at the end of the year.

“Relax in a quality resort”

We just got back to Australia from The Thai House Beach Resort Lamai, Koh Samui. We stayed for 11 nights 28th Dec 2011 until the 8th Jan 2012 and found this resort to be very clean and well run. Staff were very friendly and attentive with some staff able to understand english reasonably well. We stayed in villa K, it is located towards the back in a quiet more private location, we requested a quiet location as we knew the resort would be fully booked. The room was just as shown in photographs and extremely well cleaned with no nasty surprises. The resort is on the beach front with a nice pool and good quality restaurant with reasonable prices. The massage ladies by the pool are fabulous and highly recommended. Villa C looked to be well located if you want to be closer to the beach but still fairly private. We looked at several other resorts in the area and were very happy with our choice as some were not so good. The resort is in a side street off the main shopping street, although there are many streets of all types of shops. Night market food short walk with cheap and interesting foods all seemed fresh and popular, we tried several types with no complaints. If visiting Samui out of school holidays you could stay a few nights here and then check out other resorts around the island via scooter of course! and negotiate a good price with them. Overall we loved and very much enjoyed our stay at The Thai House Beach Resort. Also the best New years eve party in Lamai was at our resort with a band on the beach.

Room Tip: Villa K for privacy and a nice size room, closer to the beach and pool with a bit of privacy Villa C...

“Lovely spot on Lamai”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 January 2012

We stayed at Thai House for three nights in late December/early January. The resort is located in a great spot - on Lamai beach - beuatiful white sand and plenty of surrounding restaurants, bars etc.

The room was a good size with a decent-sized balcony and the service and housekeeping was generally very good. Beds very comfortable and the air conditioning excellent.

The only disappointments were:
- With the number of guests staying during this peak time it was very very difficult to get a beach lounge by the pool or the beach in front of the resort.
- The tiles/grout in the shower of our room needed some scrubbing/bleaching.
