We have travelled around the world, and we are sorry to say that this hotel is rated as the very worst that we have experienced. On arrival we had to search for Reception, as there was no signing, there was no welcome just la Signora to show us to our room. That was the end of the contact with hotel staff. No information was provided so we had to look for meal times etc., ourselves, as staff do not understand English. I believe that they have trouble with italian too as they were quite unable to supply water for any meal no matter what language was used. The standard of the food was exceedingly poor.
Breakfast:- Buffet style, Every day the bread was stale, fruit juice? from a machine quite what I can't say. Croissants, only if you were very very quick, never enough to allow for one for each guest. Despite this, breakfast was far preferable to dinner. The standard of the main courses was abysmal, poor quality food very badly cooked. Whilst we accept that local produce should form the majority of the menu, it should be of a much higher standard than achieved here. There was never a dessert on offer. The cook seemed to be limited to "peasant" cooking and little else. Additionally we were charged 30 euros for six days use of the air conditioning, for coffee at every meal except breakfast and for water at every meal. In short, poor service, combined with dreadful food, coupled with surly staff has made certain that we will never return to this hotel in Calabria again.
However not all was bad. If you are looking for a clean attractive hotel, nice pool and gardens and nothing else, then this will be the place for you.
A car is essential here as there are no facilities within easy walking distance.
