“Beautiful Villa Pasquini”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2011

in 2009, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with a trip from Australia to England, France and Italy, including a 2 week driving holiday in Tuscany. Our travel agent had organised for us to collect our car in Montecatini Terme, and as we had no firm plans for this part of the trip, we decided to stay there. Villa Pasquini was one of several hotels recommended by the car hire office and we are so glad that they did. Driving through the lovely old gates and up the long tree-lined drive to the gorgeous villa at the top of the hill, we felt like we were in a movie. Although we had made no booking and were arriving late in the afternoon, Christina was very welcoming and showed us to a beautiful room with gorgeous antique furniture, and a wonderful view across the surrounding terraced hills. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom perfect. We were so impressed with the hotel that we decided to stay for 3 nights and used it as a base for our day trips to surrounding towns such as Siena and Lucca. Our hosts were so helpful with information about what to see and do, and also organised a most memorable horse drawn coach tour around Montecatini Terme, a beautiful old town with Roman thermal baths. We ate in the hotel's restaurant each night and the food was superb - fresh and utterly delicious, and they took special trouble to cater for my husband who is vegetarian. We drank their own label wine which was also wonderful. We breakfasted each day on the terrace in front of the hotel, eating fresh fruit, bread, cheese, prosciutto and their own olive oil - delicious. We loved our time there so much that, upon returning the car to Montecatini Terme two weeks later, we stayed at Villa Pasquini again for a further two nights. This time, they were closing down for the winter, but generously offered to host us in a smaller wing of the villa, which while smaller, was no less elegant - beautiful antique furniture and again that view! Just like a postcard. We have recommended Villa Pasquini to all of our family and friends and also our travel agent, and would most definitely stay there again - it was a highlight of a wonderful trip.

“A real Tuscan evening”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 May 2011

Our Tour group (29) had a beautiful evening and meal at this lovely villa. The food was delicious---the workers were great--the owners took the time to stop and talk to us about the history of the villa. The grounds were so lovely---I could picture myself having a cup of tea at a table in the gardens. The wonderful old statues and flowers all blended together to give you feeling of dreamy romance. If I go back to Tuscany I will definity want to stay there.

“It was the highlight of our tour!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2009

Read the negative review of Villa Pasquini and all I can say is that some people are never happy with anything! Our group had such a wonderful time at the Villa that we have all shared our memories with friends who were not able to attend our trip! The Villa itself is a picture-perfect building at the top of a hill, overlooking the town of Montecatini. The drive up to the Villa was breathtaking. When we arrived at the top, we were met with a drink and a small bite to eat, but the view was the best! Everywhere we looked, we saw the gorgeous hillsides and town below. We happened to luckily have a full moon that night and as we were leaving, the moonlight lit up the entire valley and town below. It was such a special moment! We loved the food, wine and entertainment. It gave everyone a taste of Tuscany and we were able to sample food which some of us had never had before. Everything was wonderful! We kept ordering more olives which grew in the area and were delicious! They disappeared each time another bowl was brought out! The servers were wonderful and prompt with our requests. The food was terrific and the cream cake which we had for dessert was mouth-watering! Can't imagine someone not thoroughly enjoying it! Maybe the negative review was done by one of those high-faluting reviewers from a big city but our group loved each and every minute at the Villa!!

“Memorable Evening!”

I have to disagree with one of the previous reviewers on this venue. We were with a small tour group (Cosmos) that stayed in Montecatini four nights. The evening we spent at Villa Pasquini was fantastic. The countryside was breathtaking, and the villa was very picturesque. Although we did not see the B&B part of the villa, in fairness we were there for the dinner only. The reception was warm with pre-dinner drinks served outside the entrance. Yes, there were just two bowls of "nibbles", but we were not there to stuff ourselves with nibbles. The dinner was the star of the evening. The area where we dined was nicely done and not crowded at all on the night we were there. Maybe ten tables full of guests were in attendance. The entertainer was fantastic. He had a good voice, and his musical renditions of recognizable Italian music were very entertaining. While he was doing his thing, we were treated to many courses of wonderful food starting with appetizers and ending with dessert and coffee. Wine and bottled water were definitely free-flowing. We enjoyed both the food and the wine. Guests laughed, danced, sang and had from what I could see a wonderful time. We were pleasantly surprised to get such a full evening of food and entertainment for 43 Euro and will remember it fondly as one of the true highlights of our one week in Italy.

Our tour group enjoyed the same evening at the Villa Pasquini as the very unhappy reviewer in June. The drive and the views were breathtaking, as were the grounds of the villa. The roses were huge and screaming with vibrant colors. We enjoyed a brief visit to the wedding chapel, and the fabulous (sorry to disagree) 5 course Italian dinner. The wine and a variety of alcohol was freely flowing, and food just kept coming. We were treated to truly authentic Italian country fare. Risotto, antipasto, soups, bruschetta.....etc. If you want a pizza- stay home. The "one man band", their singer and entertainer sang for hours, non stop. We danced. It was pleasant, fun and enjoyable. We are a well travelled group, and had been in Europe and Italy for well over 3 weeks. This beautiful moonlit evening was the highlight of our trip.
