“Never Again”

My boyfriend and I stayed at Footprints to celebrat his birthday. It lookes really nice on the website, "A lover's retreat" but when we got there it was total disappointment. First of, the room that we booked was not the room we were given, so we had to move and the extra price was added since this room had a bachelor refridgerator. If you are in Tobago to enjoy the food and beaches do not stay at this resort. It is at least 45mins drive from all the popular hot spots in Tobago including Sandy Point and Pigeon Point. If you decide to go out to dineer you might want to get back in before the sun goes down because the drive back is long and very lonely. The most horrible experience was the night before my boyfriend's birthday when we got back in from having dinner and just wanted to hop into bed, the bed was soaked completely through. It took management over two hours to get us clean sheets and fresh pillows and my boyfriend and I had to do all the work our selves. When I mentioned to the manager that we should be compensated in some way I was just ignored. They are way too expensive for the lack of comfort. Never Again would i stay there or advise anyone on staying there. The first time we went to Tobago we stayed at Sandy Point Village which was heaven compared to Footprints.

“Weekend getaway gone wrong!”

Weekend getaway at Footprints was not what we imagined...the website looked wonderful - lover's retreat , private jacuzzi and swimming pool..sound too good to be true? it was...

Firstly we arrived there friday night, i had asked them to have dinner for us since we would arrive there at about 9pm....the dinner was there - cold in our room....and did i mention, there was no water in lover's retreat so our first night was spent in one of the other guest rooms...it wasnt bad.....breakfast wasn't bad but the lunch was minimal...they told me they would be able to accomodate vegetarian meals for my husband....lets just say if that means leaving out the meat, then i would think they would add more of the other items - peas, rice etc...their lunches are too small..you are often hungry by 2pm..and there were no sandwiches etc to snack on in between....we were moved to lover's retreat on the second day...only to be greeted with a dead frog floatin in our jacuzzi....i got tore apart by mosquitoes or whatever it was got 20 bites....horrendous.....we got room service, to our rooms..and i specifically said i would prefer chicken to fish...yet repeatedly i was served fish...i ended up leaving alot of my food...it was the first vacation that i may have actually lost weight......
In conclusion, footprints has some good thoughts but they need to get their act a bit together...the hotel needs to be cleaner...and have a wider variety of food etc for guests...Kariwak ( where we stayed for our honeymoon) was heaven this certainly wasn't!

“Peaceful Getaway in Paradise”

My husband and I celebrated our 5th anniversary at Footprints - Lovers Retreat - in June 2006. It was wonderful. Lovers Retreat is tucked into the hillside and surrounded on 3 sides by hills. From the verandah you can look back and see the sea and sky meet over the trees. The picturesque setting must be seen to be believed. The location is unspoilt and the natural beauty takes your breath away. The infrastructure blends into the landscape in harmony with nature. NOTE: There is contruction underway at the resort as they renovate and add new facilities under new management. The renovation never got in our way, though - no noise, no dust, no interruptions.

The staff is great, and the service is excellent. From the first night we were already trying to decide when next we could return. Our young sons went with us, and enjoyed the pool, jacuzzi and beach immensely. The beach is secluded and clean and peaceful. The food is excellent! We were so sad to leave. The staff did everything they could to make us feel welcome and really made us feel at home. Our trip was nothing if not memorable. We did not want to go back home and we will definitely visit again!!

“Relaxing Rustic Romantic Retreat”

My husband and I stayed in Tobago for a week. We were first checked into the Hilton which for being one of the newest resorts, is sorely lacking in attention to detail. In search for a true Tobago experience we discovered one of the most beautiful locations on the island. Footprints, under new management, was fabulous. Our lodging was situated atop a cliffside, the moonlight caressed the surf below and lulled us to sleep each night. The cuisine was true island recipes with smoked herring for breakfast and ginger coconut ice cream in the evening. The service of all the people was impeccable with the attitude that they were there to “facilitate and serve”. By the time we left, we felt like we were leaving family. As one of the other guests said, “this is heaven”.

“Fantastic”

Large family reunion over the Xmas week. The footprints team, led by Marian and wonderfully assisted by her son Corey, did a superb job. Everyone was totally at ease and had a wonderful time. Its a place with fabulous privacy and quiet. It also has spectacular views. The footprints team couldn't do enough to be helpful and accomodating. Wonderful memories of Tobago thanks in very large part to them.
