We were there for our sons wedding, about 75 of us at the GB and others near-by in cottages or The Hilton. Our room was fantastic, we had 2 sides with sliding doors and balconies. The wonderful lady that kept our room so clean for us was amazing, she became a real friend. The desk staff were efficient and so helpful to all of us. The hotel worked so hard to get the magic rooms, suites, actually, at the end of the pier open for the Bride and Groom on their wedding night. Some of the bridal party stayed out there as well. The Wedding Reception was just wonderful, in the dining area and open on 2 sides. Breakfasts were absolutely magnificent and what a way to start your day with such a lovely outlook. We got a wonderful deal, and Hector, the Boss, and his staff just could not have been more caring and accommodating. We did not want to ever leave.

First visited in 1985, so glad I came back. A little older but aren't we all.
As they say "location-location-location" is everything. Beaches at your doorstep,shopping
and nightlife steps away and the friendly people of Barbados everywhere. Those friendly,
efficient, helpful people are where you want to find them most when on vacation.

After the reviews I had read prior to my week long stay to the Grand Barbados, I was a little worried. However, it turned out to be a great hotel. The front desk is very helpful and nice. The first day there, the friendly hotel manager introduced himself and told us that he's from Miami and just started a few months prior. Our room was amazing, and the view was wonderful. We went with an extemely large wedding party of about 90+, and I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. The only downside is that there are not many close places to get a bite to eat. The hotel's restaurant is quite pricey ($20 for a sandwich and fries). However there is a great, cheap fish sandwich shack about 30 seconds down the beach. I would recommend renting a car for your stay if you want to get around (but you could always get a taxi). The closest shops are about a 30 minute walk down the beach. I definately recommend this hotel, I had a wonderful experience.

The Grand Barbados was just the accommodation I needed after my husband was hospitalised. I found the rooms clean, neat and extremely comfortable. The views were fantastic And all the staff were exceptional. They were kind, helpful, hard working and especially friendly. They certainly made me feel at home and buoyed up my spirits. I really enjoyed my meals in the open dining room where we watched the water and could hear it lapping the pylons underneath. It was so lovely watching the goings on on the beach from the cricket, to tourist boats arriving for swimming or snorkling or just being able to watch the flying fish in the shallows. It was truly a memorable experience
