“What a great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

No point in reiterating what others have said however we stayed for four days and had a great time. Reference has been made to the road between the FIsh Pot Restaurant, Beach and the Chalets and Pools we found that this road for any city dweller is equivalent to a small suburban highway with moderate slow moving traffic traffic. At no time was it excessivley noisy apart from the occasional late night motorbike rider making their way home. It certainly did not disturb our sleeping.
Gardens are super we saw a monkey wandering through (they are not aggresive). The larger Pool was our favourite spot during the day and can recomend the Spa.
At night we went across the road to the Fish Pot there is no bar but you can sit on a small veranda overlooking the sea and the helpful straff will always ensure that you are topped up until you are called to your table. Expect to see a few well known faces to Uk visititors, food is excellent and reasonably priced by Barbadian West Coast standards.
We also visited the sister Hotel at Basheba the Atlantic for lunch on Wednesday super buffet.
Would suggest you hire a car as the Hotel is in the North and to get around it is far easier by car.
This is not the Hotel to go to if you want to "Rock and Roll" but if you want a class act with friendly staff to relax at this is it.

Room Tip: As far as we could see all rooms are good

“Little Good Harbour Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 January 2012

My wife and I recently spent four nights at LGHH. The accommodation is in semi-detached chalets, spread over two floors with an outdoor terrace and balcony. We had B6 which has the best view. The accommodation comprises a kitchen/lounge downstairs and bedroom/bathroom upstairs. Very nicely decorated and comfortable. However, there is a small road between the chalets and the beach, which was a negative for me. Although not busy, you can hear the cars from your chalet and on the beach. But considering the road runs up the whole of the west coast of the island and through the backyard of all the beach hotels i don't suppose you can escape it. On the beach side of the road is the Fish Pot restaurant, which is part of LGHH. It is one of the best restaurants on the island and a great place to dine or simple relax and watch the waves rolling up the beach. For the price (and Barbados is expensive), LGHH is excellent value and whether with or without a family (there are two and three bedroom chalets) a very good choice.

Room Tip: Chalet B6 has the best view.

“Quite hard to decide how many out of 5”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

But settled for four out of five in the end. Why? Well call me picky but 5/5 implies pretty much perfection and this had a few things that made me unable to give it 5. Don't get me wrong there is a huge amount to like about this place and most of the staff are fab. Here is the good stuff:-

Quiet area but close enough to the 'posh' restaurants that a short drive or taxi will only take 15/20 mins. 'Tides' is the best restaurant.
Good staff (apart from the grumpy old guy behind the bar) and excellent help from Graham and Trevor in the office who are quite brilliant.
Fishpot restaurant is very good - probably best for lunch where it seems to attract a great trade. Need to find somewhere else to go for dinners as the menu eventually gets repetitive.
You can virtually step out of the restaurant into the warm, safe sea. Plenty of colourful fish to be see when snorkelling on the reef.
Rooms cleaned and looked after very well
Gym small but enough in there for a holiday.

Needs attention:-
Rooms not as big as they appear on the website
Needs some refurbishment in places - e.g leaky shower
Cat's tend to use the gardens outside our terrace for a toilet
Messy round the cabanas on the beach
Pools need an update - look very tired, missing tiles etc
Spa is a waste of space, one room and a drippy receptionist
No bar and you have to get your own drinks and take to the pools

You need to remember that this is not a hotel which can be both a good and bad thing - more freedom to do what you want but some services not available (e.g. Internet only works in the office)

Overall it is very good but we felt that the investment is going into the sister hotel (Atlantis) on the East Coast and LGH was probably suffering slightly.

Room Tip: The single bedroom suites which we were in were between the 2 and 3 bedroom suites and we were not d...

“Absolutely going back.”

We stayed above the restaurant for six days, it was the best time, weather, the water couldn't have been more perfect for swimming (flat) and the staff was nice. The fish market was just down the street where we could walk to for groceries for dinner. Our only complaint we had about our rooms, was the kitchen staff stayed after closing and did some partying every night... then the breakfast staff came early and made a lot of noise. Not the rooms if your looking to sleep in.

“AMAZING!!!!”

A dream come true! We stayed here after 5 nights in rugged Bathsheba and it was wonderful! Our villa was spotless and so comfortable! The staff was great and gave us perfect directions for everywhere we wanted to go. You def want to have a car while you are here. We also got to the use the hotels snorkle equipment and 2 person kayak. We took the kayak out and swam with the sea turtles. We also sat at the beach each day and watched the sunset! Great location!
The beach here is kinda small and there are a lot of rocks in the water so be warned. They also have 2 pools and a great spa. Would love to vacation here again!!!!
