Stayed here 3 nights as members of a walking group. Like most hotels in Morocco this one is looking a bit "tired", and if the owners have spent anything on maintenance in the past decade, it doesn't show.
The hotel is in an excellent location inside the town walls, and we noticed that that it has a secure parking area. Some of the rooms are better than others; ours had neither aircon, which we didn't need, nor heating which would have been nice. Our room looked out over the street, but there was no noise problem. Other rooms looked over the pool, and some had balconies. Our room was clean, but the sheets wer too small and pillows too hard. These latter seem near-universal problems in Morocco.
Breakfast was the basic French minimum, with decent coffee. Evening meal in the restaurant was OK, if a bit under-spiced. The hotel does not sell wine or beer, but will happily serve alcohol at no charge if you buy it elsewhere. We bought both wine and beer down a dark alley at a hatch into the bar of the Hotel Taroudannt, on the main square. Exciting!
Hotel staff were OK, spoke no English, were quite communicative in French.
The pool looked nice, but was too cold for use in February.
Taroudannt is well worth a visit, and this hotel would suit the independant traveller, if you get a decent price. If arriving in the hot season, make sure your room has working Aircon!
