“Hotel Taroudant”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

I stayed at this hotel only because I was coming from Marakesh via CTM. The CTM bus from Marakesh to Taroudant departs at 2am and arrives 4 hours later. It is the only CTM bus by the way. It was cold outside and the hotel was closed at 6am, but I did not mind knocking on the door and the man let me in. The room was large, the heat did not work and the tv was OK. Cleanliness in the room was passable. I was on the second floor and did not eat at the hotel. I ate in one of the restaurants in the square and the waiter attempted to charge me for hot water to make my own instant coffee brought from home. This happened also in Marrakesh.

Room Tip: Bundle up in winter! No heat but was not needed.

“Fairly good for a budget hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 June 2011

We stayed here for just 1 night, but we found it to be a good budget hotel good for a short stay. Hotel is located near the central square, though imposible to find without asking for directions. Private parking near the hotel. Room was big and clean, with 2 separate beds. There was no airco, so you might want to plan your stay away from high summer. Door lock seemed iffy, so do not leave anything of value behind. Hotel offered a very good 3-course dinner for 70 dirhams pp, which is served on the roof terrace. Although the terrace nor the view was anything special, the food was surprisingly good and that's says something after an already 2-week stay in Morocco during which we were spoiled with excellent cooking.
Shower had warm, but not hot, water. Breakfast was served at the pool, with fresh OJ, pain au chocolat and bread.
I would recommend this hotel, but for a short stay only.

“Decent Budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2009

Stayed here 3 nights as members of a walking group. Like most hotels in Morocco this one is looking a bit "tired", and if the owners have spent anything on maintenance in the past decade, it doesn't show.

The hotel is in an excellent location inside the town walls, and we noticed that that it has a secure parking area. Some of the rooms are better than others; ours had neither aircon, which we didn't need, nor heating which would have been nice. Our room looked out over the street, but there was no noise problem. Other rooms looked over the pool, and some had balconies. Our room was clean, but the sheets wer too small and pillows too hard. These latter seem near-universal problems in Morocco.

Breakfast was the basic French minimum, with decent coffee. Evening meal in the restaurant was OK, if a bit under-spiced. The hotel does not sell wine or beer, but will happily serve alcohol at no charge if you buy it elsewhere. We bought both wine and beer down a dark alley at a hatch into the bar of the Hotel Taroudannt, on the main square. Exciting!

Hotel staff were OK, spoke no English, were quite communicative in French.

The pool looked nice, but was too cold for use in February.

Taroudannt is well worth a visit, and this hotel would suit the independant traveller, if you get a decent price. If arriving in the hot season, make sure your room has working Aircon!

“Very reasonable and clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2008

Comfortable and clean hotel with nice pool and good restaurant, very reasonably priced.
Some rooms have a VERY small window and it is a bit old fashioned, but a good choice anyhow.

“Value for money hotel!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 April 2008

Above average for the hotel rate - bear in mind this isn't an expensive hotel. We had a decent sized en suite twin room with double doors overlooking the inner courtyard and swimming pool. Breakfast served by the pool - didn't use the pool though. Roof terrace overlooked the Atlas mountains; tourist menu at 70 Dh was reasonable. Also on the terrace a large and comfortable sitting room for guests.
Good location on the edge of the medina and plenty of shopping opportunites there.
