“Nice Riad and good service, little out of the way if you don't have your own wheels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2010

We stayed one night at this riad, not so much a riad as a small boutique hotel with pool and large terrace. The room is nicely furnished, the bathrooms very clean and the shower hot. The restaurant is also very nice; we had the special of goat. The location is a bit out of the way approx. 3 km from Taroudannt and not much to do close to the hotel, but with your own set of wheels this is no problem. The plus is no minaret to wake you early in the morning.

“Faded grandeur, but delightful all the same in a serene location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 August 2010

This is an old country house around three km from Taroudannt and surrounded by orchards. It is an idyllic location, and has a new pool, with a view over the Atlas Mountains, which provide a breathtaking backdrop to a sunset swim.

The house itself was built on a grand scale, around multiple courtyards, again with serene traditional gardens. However, the catch is that the furnishings are rather jaded/old fashioned, but in some ways that adds to the charm of the place. It's a bit like being in a black and white movie. The staff were very welcoming, and we had a good meal in the garden restaurant, which again had a wonderful atmosphere.

The prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is idyllic - you will have a very peaceful night's sleep. With a bit of rennovation, and modernisation it could be a true gem - but then would be charging double the price

“What a nice pool in the middle of the desert”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 July 2010

We spend 2 nigths at Riad El Aissi it was in the middle of a very hot and dusty summer the food was excellent among the best of what we have had during our trip but the atmosphere was just lacking the extra bit of brigthness that you see on the picture from their side
The owner is wonderfully dynamic

“Perfect Peace”

My son and I stayed at Riad El Aissi during our 20 day tour of Morocco with Lahcen Boujouija from Around Morocco Tours. As with every other place Lahcen suggested, this place was special. After driving down a long private driveway flanked on either side by olive trees we arrived at a tranquil oasis. Located 3 km outside of Taroudant, El Aissi is far removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. Each room has been thoughtfully decorated with beautiful fabrics and very comfortable furnishings. The owner, Latifa, has put her touch into every aspect of this perfect hide away. Our dinner that night was one of the best in Morocco and the pool the next morning was top on my list. Waking up early to the sound of birds and then going to sit by the pool overlooking the High Atlas mountains is something I will never forget. Thank you, Latifa for welcoming us into your home. I will come back to Tarodant to stay again someday.

“Serene and charming - with a gorgeous pool!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 December 2009

A friend and I stayed at Riad el Aissi for one night during our recent 16 day tour of Morocco. The property is spacious and serene - with lots of cosy corners to stretch out on a sofa, read a book, or simply relax. We wished we could have stayed longer!
The riad has a new pool which is just gorgeous - it sits on a scenic terrace and has plenty of sunbeds for serious relaxation. Don't miss this one - it really stands out in my mind for its charm and tranquility.
