“Riad Palais Hida. Has to be Number One”
I stayed at Riad Hida for 3 days,(2 Nights), as part of a tour at the New Year. It was not over busy apart from us tourers, I think about 5 other families/couples dining each night. It's a really lovely place,a true palace, and even at this time very sunny every day,(though we heard all about the torrential rain of the previous week), and a great treat to eat our breakfast, and a splendid breakfast it was, on a sunny terrace, at the turn of the year.
There is a large bar, very professionally staffed, and with a local musical group for a few hours every evening. After the wine some of our party attempted Berber dancing, but the less said the better. Days were spent at the splendid pool, also some time in nearby saffron centre Talouine, and in Ouled Beril, both villages worth a trip, and give a sense of present day Morocco away from Agadir. The dinners were very satisfactory, soup each night with a chicken tajine with almonds and prunes and potato and vegetables for the first night and a lamb tajine on the 2nd. The sweet was a tart or fresh fruit. We were all very sorry to go from Palais Riad Hida, and would have very gladly and gratefully spent the remaining nights there, but Agadir beckoned and it was all arranged.Hope to get back, one fine day, inchallah.
